I got mine lightning version really cheap like 280 dollars. They have worked flawlessly for a number of years, EXCEPT that stupid mesh that lost all elasticity and is not replaceable. It beggars belief

I have a really old mini-USB connection pair of Beats Studio (over the ear) headphones that work really well. When the material around the ear cans began deteriorating I was able to find some really nice replacements on Amazon that have lasted quite a long time now. They cost nearly half as much as the AirPods Max, and I don't have to deal with that stupid charging case.
Yes because they aren’t wireless, are inconvenient for many due to many factors including that a lot of those headphones need an amp to sound their best, and they don’t feature ANC or phone integration.
As I said, different market segment. You may as well compare a Ride-on Lawnmower to a Porsche just because they both have four wheels.
I just sold my AirPods Max this week after several enjoyable years.
I just wasn't using them much anymore and I figured I'd get some money off the table.
The one thing I really wished were different is the weight.
The band up top supported it pretty well, and it was reasonably comfortable, but the weight did occasionally bother me as they'd have a tendency to shift if I ever moved my head up/down beyond a certain point and it was a nuisance.
