I actually found it on my home-use FedEx Delivery Manager account.
Right, there are separate ones for different carriers as well, outside of Amazon (like FedEx, UPS, etc.) -- usually involves setting up a free account with them and adding the instructions there.

You can also set up to be notified of any deliveries coming to your address automatically (basically whether you know of them or not).

You mean like I mentioned in my post that you quoted? lol

I have both FedEx and UPS accounts, I'm not sure that Amazon has this capability yet though.
The post was meant to be in agreement with yours, expanding some more on it, in addition to what I posted about Amazon basically. (Seems like I omitted a "right" in the beginning there originally.)

Amazon has something similar for their own delivery service.

Strange, I've been using that for personal deliveries for quite a while now.

The process might be essentially the same as for business accounts -- take a look at Delivery Instructions section at:

Many people forget this when they setup Addresses.

One thing Amazon and most/all delivery services do that bugs me - they will leave a package up against a garage door. Now that's fine if you are coming home and see it, but if you are exiting the house in your car there's a good chance you won't see it and it either ends up flattened or dragged under your car.
I've never had a package left leaning against my garage door. Where I live now, and the last house we had, that would be the easiest/quickest place to leave a package. One exception to that is a USPS delivery that is small enough to fit in the mailbox, which is at the curb. So maybe it's a regional thing. (?)

I think I might have had one or two recently. When I got my new phone last month the FedEx driver was almost back in his truck after leaving the package by the garage door when he realized Google required "signature", which in these COVID times meant he had to confirm the person he was handing it to knew the last name of the intended recipient.

I absolutely love Amazon. Before Amazon I would have to drive hours looking for hard to find items in a store and if it wasn't available wait weeks after ordering it online. Even with the Covid madness going on the longest Amazon takes is three days and it's usually next day. Most of the time unless I need an item right now I won't even bother going to a store. Even without the additional risks from human contact, it's annoying having to drive there then find out they are out of whatever or just decided not to carry that item anymore.

KInd of a followup to this thread ...

I started to order a bit more from Sams Club - free shipping for a 2nd tier membership.
Their tracking pretty much is non-existent, most things arrive a day early, but the amount of damaged items ... wow.

My Amazon on the other hand is still apparently following the holiday style; ship as sson as possible, consilidation is not priority. Still getting stuff on time or early EXCEPT from 3rd party. That is all over the place.

Have a great year all!!
