Amazon Freevee, aka the ad-supported video service that used to be called IMDb TV, now has an app that's available on the App Store for the Apple TV (via Variety).

According to Amazon's website, Freevee is an ad-supported streaming video service that is available in the United States. It is separate from Amazon Prime Video, which requires an Amazon Prime subscription, and it is entirely free to watch. There is no option to skip ads or turn off ads with Freevee.

Freevee offers movies, shows, Freevee Originals, and live 24/7 entertainment channels. Some of the available original shows include "Troppo," "Judy Justice," and "Bosch: Legacy," plus it has popular movies that are shown with ads.

The Freevee app can be downloaded on the Apple TV starting today, and it is also available on the iPhone and iPad as well as other set-top boxes and consoles.

I just can't watch ads anymore, free or not. I'd rather pay for content.
Just install yourself any application/plugin/whatever, that blocks the adds and you will have a happy life. 😉
Also, you can use your old computer to surf the modern internet, because it will be as it would be new. Adds won't be eating the precious hardware resources.

Does anyone know if the movies are ”edited for television “, or are these full featured but with ad breaks?

How can a service both be premium and free?

What's next? A free American Express Centurion card?

I don't know, I used to watch "included" Amazon Prime Video (a few years ago) and that was supposed to be premium. But then they started having ads, then removing content to higher paid tiers ("Prime Video with CBS All Access"), so I stopped watching it. I eventually stopped subscribing to Amazon Prime due to the price increases where I was only getting faster shipping. So I had a paid service with ads, which seems decidedly not-premium.

I guess if you can have Prime Video be neither premium nor free, maybe they decided to try the "premium and free" version.

... shameful that Amazon is trying to get additional ad revenue from users that are already paying the "premium" Prime Services. The content should be there as well.
Freevee is a service aimed at those who don't have Prime.

The ad revenue covers the licensing fees since Amazon doesn't own movies such as Logan, Knives Out, Napoleon Dynamite, etc.

I so wish I could blanket block this from even appearing in the prime app. It's SO annoying to have to go into the show itself, only to find out it has ads. They need a 'block all ad-supported content' setting in your profile.

Gee, all the naysayers. It charges nothing to watch and also offers surround sound. If you really don’t want to watch no one is making you.
