Interesting release date eh?

I have a feeling that even if this screenshot is fake, iPad 2 will not be dual-core. It just doesn't make sense. All these rumors about how there will be an iPad 3 this fall, if that's true, don't you think they would save the dualcore chip till then? if they release it now the only update later would be the screen. I'm guessing tomorrow's iPad is bumped up to 1.2ghz or something along that. I hope I'm wrong though.

I doubt this is real, but if the iPad Wifi+3G is now the only model and is the same price as the current wifi model then I may be tempted to actually upgrade from my Wifi only model..

Since when have Apple mobile products explicitly stated the speed of their CPU? Never.

If this were a real iPad 2 listing, it would just say "iPad 2, 16 GB, Wifi+3g"

If you look on the site it has the speed listed on the 1st gen units as well.

Thunderbolt is interesting being compatible with MBP only... So far anyways...

It also claims it's the exact same height and size as the first ipad.

Which considering the reports of a slightly smaller bezel, lighter weight, and a new body, it seems unlikely that it would be the exact same height.

I think sticking Thunderbolt in the iPad makes total sense. Apple is trying to push the port into the forefront, and having millions of tablets on the market with it will mean that more 3rd party thunderbolt products will be produced.

Since when was Amazon a good indication of Apple rumors?
Really? Have you been living under a rock all these years while online retailers have posted info they weren't supposed to?

Thunderbolt needs a PCIe bus for starters. Think you can forget about this one folks.

The attaching device doesn't need a PCIe bus, just the computer doing the data processing (i.e. the new MBPs)

Don't know if it's fake or not butt I did notice it was for a 16GB unit which means that will still be that base size.
We shall know soon enough

The screen would be by far enough to upgrade.

I plan on getting an ipad 2, and will immediately upgrade when they do bring an updated res screen.

To be honest I am sceptical of the dual core processor as well, even though I think its a huge mistake to give a really tiny speed bump to the ipad to with whats on the horizon this year.

If this is the Ipad 2 then it should be called the Ipad 1.25..... Basically your getting a camera and a very very small increase in speed.

I call fake though as I don't think Apple is that dumb...

iPad 1.25 just rolls off the tongue so nicely :D.

If this is the case I will just get an ipad 1 on the cheap. But I don't think Apple is that dumb.
