What's the Point?

I'm not trying to constantly be negative about Apple. I mean I do own every product category - iPhone 6, iPad Air, AppleTV, Macbook Pro and iMac, even worked on a project where I bought $4 MILLION worth of Apple gear. But I just don't understand or like their direction. Can someone please explain to me, like I'm a two year old why anyone would get an iWatch?

I could understand it if the iWatch was completely separated from the iPhone - then I'd be tempted, but since you need to have an iPhone nearby at all times, what's the point? Are people really that lazy or stupid that they'd spend $500 just to not have to reach into their pocket, bag, etc. to pull their phone out?

it's gonna be crazy watching how people use a "watch" going forward. i couldn't imagine buying anything on amazon through a watch...but i'm sure some will. will be an interesting evolution of wearables in the next few years.

When the iPhone came out I never thought I'd be buying stuff from a mobile phone, too. Now I reckon most my purchases are made through it!

I can only say why I bought a Pebble, and why I'm not getting an iWatch.

I like notifications on my wrist, I'm not one to keep my phone infront of me all the time, it's usually in my coat pocket or still being charged in my bedroom. So to get notifications, alerts and such on a device that's always on my wrist is really useful. I also need music controls since I use non-Apple headphones on my iPhone. That's all really! Being able to go swimming and still get alerts and messages is also really neat (which is why I'm not getting an iWatch as well as the steep price).

But then again I also wore a watch regularly before I got a Pebble. It hasn't been a huge shift to me.

It is a little hassle for a little gain. It's not the kind of thing that you would buy an Apple Watch for. But if you're already planning to get the Apple Watch, and this makes a small task just a little more convenient, why would you deliberately choose the less convenient way?

Buying things on a watch screen, actually sounds like more of a hassle to me.

Someday the Apple watch will be independent, and maybe that's when it will win you over. Or maybe it will never happen to you.

It's no good explaining to you as if you were a two year old. A two year old would get it already. It's the people who are already set in their ways who will have a hard time with any new technology. My grandmother in her lifetime embraced radio, television, automobiles, air travel, spaceships, and many other new fantastic technologies. She did not embrace personal computers or the internet. Everyone has limits, and perhaps you have reached yours.

Pfft, anyone reading from paper instead of REAL stone tablets deserves scorn for being lazy.

Stone tablets?

Luxury.

In my day it was one letter carved on the side of a mountain and you had to travel the entire length of the Appalachians just to read Amazon's ordering instructions before they'd give you the location of the mountain range where your book was located.

As much as I have been an Apple watch hater, I think this is a good move for Amazon. The people who buy the Apple watch to begin with are probably more likely to buy other stuff too. Nice move

Or dangerous. Bump into someone in a crowded elevator and before you know it you've bought a bunch of random stuff.

Haha, at least you'll get a notification your account is overdrawn right on your wrist!
