For those that have been waiting, the app is now live on the app store. I have been waiting for this as the final piece to make my ipad a fully, take anywhere device! Makes android devices less and less necessary. Amazon has not even released an android version of this app!

    YES! Finally!

Long awaited here - testing it out now.

Thumbnail screen is a little laggy when scrolling on my iPad 3.

Episode breakdown does not have the titles in some shows. Top Gear - Episode 1, Episode 2 - it does not display the episode name as it does on my bluray player.

Picture quality is decent - so far playback seems pretty smooth.

Am I the only one who is having trouble finding the "search" box?

    Needed:

    Search Box.

    Gestures for navigation / playback.

HD Content? It could be that the source is 720p? Not entirely sure - but it does not look like HD on my iPad right now.

Tried emailing the above info to the feedback email account Amazon has listed - and it failed.

In a way this makes a ton of sense, in the same way that amazon having a kindle app for iOS does. Otoh, it definitely makes the Kindle Fire that much less desirable all else equal.

I wish they would give me a choice of 3G instead of requiring wifi.

It won't work on my new iPad jailbroken - keep getting a "Warning: Can't play on this device"

No search box. You have to go to amazon.com via safari and either add Prime movies to your wish list or purchase/rent video. It will then show up in the app. This is apparently a way to avoid in-app purchases and not pay apple.

I like how you have the choice to download or stream a rented or purchase video to view at a later time when you might not have an Internet connection. Unfortunately you can't download Prime videos... just stream.
