Monitor looks great! Thunderbolt input died on both my monitors so I'm down to DisplayPort now which means I can't plug in any other devices.

People seem pretty hard on this, but it's almost half the price the of the Studio Display now. The panel is the most important thing, and this is a good one. It also already comes with a matte finish and adjustable height stand--upgrades Apple charges almost $700 more for. This biggest knock against this is if you find it wobbles on your desk, but you can buy it with a heavy-duty vesa mount and still be way ahead.

Most of these comments make me think none of you have actually used this display and just regurgitate what you read online. The build quality is nowhere near as bad as its made out to be (obviously not apple quality but not bad by any means) and the Panel itself is absolutely fantastic which is the most important thing.

The only thing thats genuinely awful it is the software but I can live with that since I never actually use it for anything other than a screen for my studio.

I have a studio display at home and one of these at work. I like my studio display better mainly because I can use my volume and brightness controls, but I have no complaints about this Samsung at work other than that I love the Matte display at work where we have window and overhead lights shining on the screen

Same same. I have my eye on the BenQ PD3225U 32", but the MA320U 32" was just brought to my attention. It looks like it may not be as good, but it's almost half the price of the PD. I had waited for years for  to come out with a mid range monitor and they gave us the Studio Display...
Yep, I know is painful. I would buy the XDR 1.0 if it was priced around $2k and $2.5k with the nano-texture which is a must for me. That's why I have a tiny hope once a 2.0 version is announced, maybe this might be true but knowing Apple...LMAO
The BenQ PD looks like a solid option but the 4k makes me pause because of Apple upscale UI issues. Maybe I am overthinking this too much.

So funny, that is my secret plan too. Grab it from B&H or something. I have it in my list on amazon, and every once in a while it'll drop a few hundred, but nothing significant... Yes, I know — 4K bummer. That's why I'm thinking about the cheaper version, 'cause even the more expensive version won't be amazing :)

Yeah, the biggest downside of this monitor is a lack of DDC control. Samsung only supports DDC on HDMI and this monitor only has TB4. However, couple of guys here mention the M8 or some 32” monitors…remember, this is a 5k monitor, so perfect scaling on macOS. You can’t get this on a 4K monitor.

So the ViewInfinity S9 is now down to £900. Is it worth getting at that price? I am getting a Mac Mini M4 and need a monitor. Would prefer a 5K if possible but no more than £1000.

ha. This is down to $569 used on Amazon.

I’ll wait for the local thrift store to get one for $150….
