There's a new ad for the Kindle out there that pits a woman with a big purse/handbag against a 'cool' guy with a Kindle. It's an all white background and it's just the two of them. The whole layout and approach is strikingly similar to the Mac vs PC ads that finished a couple years ago. How shameless is Amazon? First the AppStore and now the same ad approach. It's ridiculous. I'm not opposed to Amazon succeeding in this business, and I believe the Kindle is better for reading books than the iPad, but it's a bit disheartening seeing these kinds of cheap shots.

Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery, remember?

Of course it could also be a straight shot to a lawsuit over plagiarism.

I like the Kindle commercials.

They're also the only commercials on TV that don't have to man being the stereotypically stupid one. What is up with that trend, anyway?

^^^ I don't have a TV any more but I remember those ads that stereotyped men (or, women) as rather cyclical, not to mention cynical. When they get enough complaints about ads making women out to be ditzes, they flip the switch and run the ones that make men out to be jerks. I don't miss TV one little bit 😀

Is it on youtube?

Good ad, but assuming Amazon's forthcoming tablet has a glass screen, and they promote it as a book reader, then their argument is a moot point.

It's as if I'm watching a Get a Mac commercial. LOL they even have the "cool" on the right side and the "uncool" on the left side.

Apple's influence in this industry is pervasive, to say the least.
