I would have loved a black version.
So why didn't you guys archive it on the Wayback Machine via the Internet Archive website?
Remember as well. Apple Silcone has been out for 4 years! They had 4 years plus who knows how long they were working on getting the Mac mini DTK ready to work on this design. They're supposed to be such an efficient company. They don't get in the spotlight often, but when they do it's meant to be perfect.
What’s that black dot on the right side? A headphone jack?
The AppleTV doesn't even use IR, it's bluetooth.
I know this has been a talking point, but I never understood why people think it wouldn’t. iMac has a good(ish) reason to use a power brick: To keep the profile slim. Some components in PSU’s like coils are hard to slim down, partially because they need to be oriented in a certain way for EMC reasons, so they end up in a brick. Mac Mini is already a brick, so no issues with component orientation. EDIT: Plus, iMac PSU is much larger because it powers a display.I hope it still has an integrated PSU.
Understatement of the year 😄Looks tempting, but I have an M2 Mini that works just fine on my giant desk, so no need for a mini mini.
My wife is getting one, though. It will be her second mini. Her upgrade path will be G4 -> M4. Should see some solid performance gains.
Remote has IR transmitter to control third party equipment. Apple TV has IR receiver to “learn” the IR signals the remote should emulate, and to allow control from other remotes - which can be any remote, doesn’t need to be a “universal” remote, since the smarts is in the Apple TV, not the remote (at least this used to be the case, I haven’t used that feature for years but I’m assuming it still works).I believe the remote at least has IR capability. But maybe that’s for third party equipment.

I would be genuinely shocked if this does not have internal PSU.
I assume at least two on the back, probably four on M4Pro.I assume it's got a USB-C on the back along with the power cord or is it just the power cord. Can anybody see?
Plenty of space. Apple TV has internal PSU and Ethernet port. People are being paranoid about this (which I won’t blame them for, given Apple’s history)What if as part of this "shrinkage" they want to eject the ethernet port to a power brick (as they already did for iMac)?
