Looking forward to seeing the Pro with 16/512, with 16 being standard base. I only need a 2014 iMac replacement as I have my 16" MBP M3 Max. In fact now that the M4 iMac supports more than one additional screen, that's even a consideration.

So why didn't you guys archive it on the Wayback Machine via the Internet Archive website?

It's only been around for nearly THREE decades...

I would have loved a black version.

Rust-oleum Black for Metal for about $7-$12?

Else, someone like Colorware may soon be a customizing color service option.

Or Slickwraps and similar for skins.

Or tuck it under the lip of a desk or similar and put a piece of Coal or a Black Door Stop on the desk and gesture in that direction when you refer to your new Mac Mini. ;)

They're supposed to be such an efficient company. They don't get in the spotlight often, but when they do it's meant to be perfect.
Remember as well. Apple Silcone has been out for 4 years! They had 4 years plus who knows how long they were working on getting the Mac mini DTK ready to work on this design.

We are only just seeing it now. At least half a decade since they started on Apple silicone.

Looks tempting, but I have an M2 Mini that works just fine on my giant desk, so no need for a mini mini.

My wife is getting one, though. It will be her second mini. Her upgrade path will be G4 -> M4. Should see some solid performance gains.

I assume it's got a USB-C on the back along with the power cord or is it just the power cord. Can anybody see?

Glad that someone caught this chart on Amazon. Now at least we can be prepared. At what time (including time Zone) will the Mac mini announcement drop today, so we can be ready to order?

I hope it still has an integrated PSU.
I know this has been a talking point, but I never understood why people think it wouldn’t. iMac has a good(ish) reason to use a power brick: To keep the profile slim. Some components in PSU’s like coils are hard to slim down, partially because they need to be oriented in a certain way for EMC reasons, so they end up in a brick. Mac Mini is already a brick, so no issues with component orientation. EDIT: Plus, iMac PSU is much larger because it powers a display.

I would be genuinely shocked if this does not have internal PSU.

Understatement of the year 😄

I believe the remote at least has IR capability. But maybe that’s for third party equipment.
Remote has IR transmitter to control third party equipment. Apple TV has IR receiver to “learn” the IR signals the remote should emulate, and to allow control from other remotes - which can be any remote, doesn’t need to be a “universal” remote, since the smarts is in the Apple TV, not the remote (at least this used to be the case, I haven’t used that feature for years but I’m assuming it still works).

I still believe it is a microphone though. EDIT: But I was wrong 🙂 Was thrown off by an image I mistakenly thought was genuine.

What if as part of this "shrinkage" they want to eject the ethernet port to a power brick (as they already did for iMac)?

If the goal is a couple of days of "oooooooh, ahhhhhh" via "the thinnest & lightest Mac..." spin, kicking the power supply OUT of the case would certainly contribute. Whether that is judged good or bad is eye of the beholder.

Plenty of space. Apple TV has internal PSU and Ethernet port. People are being paranoid about this (which I won’t blame them for, given Apple’s history)
