Even more satellites orbiting earth... Pretty soon space will be a big intergalactic parking lot.
Think about how big the surface of the earth is. Expand to LEO, the area is much larger. There’s plenty of area for everything. And they’re hardly “parked”

How much room is there in low earth orbit for all this? anyway, Starlink on United today is absolutely incredible speeds and works everywhere, no dead spots

SkyMiles is free for anyone to sign up for. It’s medallion status that needs to be earned by flying/spending.
Frankly, I’m surprised they’re not doing it like hotels and only providing a slow speed for free with higher speeds requiring a fee or upper-tier medallion status.
Came to ask when the last time was that 21F had plush seats and that much legroom. Perhaps a widebody/long haul?

That would be Premium Select. Yes, it’s only in (most of) their widebodies at the moment.

Space is pretty vast. Low-earth orbit is not, and it's already pretty crowded. The closer satellites are to one another, the more fuel they must expend on orbital corrections to counteract natural perturbations and maintain safe separation. That makes they more expensive, and more complicated.

There needs to be physical miles between satellites for a multitude of reasons, like safety, communication interference and confusion for ground stations, accounting for drift, etc.
How close do you think they are right now and how close do you think they have to be before it matters?

It will be good for Starlink to have some competition in this space. I tried out Starlink camping - amazing. Then my son said try it out as we were driving back on the freeway at 70 mph. Also amazing. The technology is impressive and glad Amazon trying to get into it.

How were you trying it out, via your iPhone and t-mobile?

I tried it during the beta period out in the Utah desert. It worked, but my phone got real hot and then it had a dead period of about 15 mins, then worked again for a bit.

As a current Delta Diamond, I am fed up with Delta, their prices, and ever increasing difficulty of redeeming upgrade certs. I have about 10 regional upgrade certs that I can’t use because Delta “Revenue Management” makes it near impossible (unless you fly a red eye). Diamonds are supposed to get an upgrade 5 days before the flight. But revenue mgmt will not allow this since they try to sell upgrades in the app. Last year on one flight, there were 13 FC seats available five days before my flight. No upgrade. Not to mention they increasingly require Global Upgrade Certs for relatively short regional flights!!! And nearly 250,000 points to upgrade a flight from the West coast to Hawaii !!! Because of all the nonsense, I have switched to Southwest. They get me from point A to B quickly and efficiently and usually non-stop. In the end, that’s all I care about. I am tired of standing in lines to get into the ATL and other sky clubs. It’s just not worth it.

Space is pretty vast. Lots more room to go there, don't worry.
It wouldn't be a problem if satellites were staionary, but the LEO satellites are in very similar orbits and are moving fast. There has already been a collision between an Iridium and Cosmos satellite - SpaceX is ordering frequent course corrections to avoid other satellites.

Starlink mini. I put the unit on the dashboard as we went down freeway and it still got great signal. Its impressive. Can't wait to use it with more remote camping and be able to get work done if the need arises.

Ah, interesting!

Before they ran fiber to our home not long ago, we were on slow DSL, and thought about getting Starlink. I checked with my employer and unfortunally their VPN doesn't work with it, not t-mobile home.

I've read that's pretty common in healthcare...not sure why as I don't work in IT.
