Went to the Apple Store and played with the touch bar for half an hour. I really wanted to like it. But I have absolutely no use for it. If I get that it's just for the 2 extra ports. What a waste Apple!
What a waste? Why? Because it doesn't serve a purpose for you?

just get a 2015 model.

these new ones are a joke.
Buying into the nonsense negativity I see. I'm sure you've used one and put it to the test exhaustively as well...

Hey developers making these Touch Bar simulator apps: Please make an iPad app that combines an emulated Touch Bar at the bottom of the screen, and an extended desktop window in the rest of the space. Basically the app Duet, with a Touch Bar at the bottom. Whoever makes this will be a hit. Thanks/

Now do the same in UK

Argos offered 10% off all laptops last weekend with a further 10% off that by going through a referral link. Currys in return offered £100 off Mac laptops until yesterday. It pays to keep an eye open. Both were also offering the existing 2015 range at pre-Brexit prices for those that didn't want to buy the 2016 range. Offer is over, most of the MacBook Airs have vanished and the prices have gone up.

After Black Friday your next best bet for a bargain will be Amazon Warehouse for all the Xmas regret returns.

Nonsense negativity?
You're right - dongle life, no magsafe, less ports, under achieving battery life are all nonsense negativity.

Yea, they are. I'm using one. You said "these new ones are a joke". No, they're not.

The ports can be used for anything you want them to be used for, yea you have to use an adaptor to do so, but so what? They're versatile, thus allowing you to choose what you want it to be when you want it to be that, as opposed to someone else making the decision for you.

We have used dongles on devices for years, this is truly nothing new. However, 2016 is the year of outrage and being butthurt, so I understand why it's gotten so much media attention this year.

Underachieving? Where has it been reported that the 13" non touchbar model is underachieving in battery life? Do you have one and it's underachieving? Mine is doing just fine.

I'm sorry that a computer that is faster, more capable, more portable, has many other upsides (better screen, faster ssd, better speakers, larger trackpad, etc etc.) and comes with 2x the storage at the base price is "a joke" to you.

Is it without fault? Nope, but to say it's a joke is misguided and flat out wrong.

Whatever you say - Glad you are enjoying your new machine.
