Amazon is taking $150 off multiple models of the M5 MacBook Air, focused mainly on 13-inch models this time around. These are some of the lowest prices we've seen on the notebooks in the wake of Apple's price hikes last month.

I'm still rocking a 2021 MacBook Pro (MacBookPro18,3) with an Apple M1 Pro (10-core CPU: 8 performance + 2 efficiency cores) and 16 GB of unified memory.

Every year I think, "Maybe it's finally time to upgrade." Then I start coding, compiling, and editing, and it absolutely flies. Apple accidentally made this thing too good.

The only thing that's actually showing its age is the battery... 79% maximum capacity. My Mac is basically saying, "I'm not tired, I'm just hungry."

I got my 24gb/1tb 15” M5 Air for just $30 more than that same 13” configuration, after tax. I can’t imagine the after-tax prices on these devices.

The price hikes are crazy in that context. I would not have purchased at these prices… 👀 bless the ones who have to and do
Funny you mentioned that, I also bought one from Costco for about the same price. But it's still sitting in the box unopened since I'm still debating if I want to actually replace my M2 Air with it.

That's the machine I'm typing this on (15" M5 24/1TB) and it's such a phenomenal machine.

I've had some exposure to the M2 15" MBA via a family member and I say open up the M5 and use it. It's noticeably snappier at everything.

Trying to compare this model on Amazon to the Apples website. To match the $1,599 price from the Apple site, it gets the 10-core GPU - But Amazon shows this model with the an 8-core GPU. Trying to compare "apples to apples"
Any help?

If my m1 MBP had 16gb RAM instead of 8gb, I probably would’ve kept it a few more years. But the 8gb ram was getting way too problematic. Then the price hikes came and with ongoing RAM issues, I was glad I upgraded before the hikes. I’d say open the box! It feels like a solid machine for many years.

Definitely a discount when looking at the new prices. But actually it is slightly more than the previous retail price set by Apple. Don't think prices will come back to the original price any time in the near future.
