I've said this before, many times, but those storage price jumps are such a whiff by Apple. $150 to go from too little to too much. It's such a turnoff for the whole lineup - until the Pro which, miraculously, starts at 128GB.

I need an M2 or M3 iPad Mini with 1TB and I would be happy for years to come.

Plus I would not need to upgrade my iPhone so darn much.

Storage-needs remaining I would like to point out that the A15 inside the Mini is an M2 with fewer cores so it can work within a smaller power- and thermal envelope. It is already really really powerful for its size.

I really want a new Mini, but not until it offers FaceID. No FaceID is a deal-breaker for me at this point.

Apple Refurbished seems like a much better deal. I’m going for 256gb cellular model. $800 with AppleCare included

And lets not forget 16GB RAM (assuming that would be coming with 1TB SSD model).

Only thing to add would then be 120Hz OLED screen and Mini would be perfect.

A15 != M2: Key things like memory virtualization is limited: leading lacking in support for external screens and stage manager.

The Mini 6 has been a ripoff from the day it was announced.

They jacked the MSRP by 25% from the Mini 5, and kept the same base 64gb storage

(To say nothing of the jelly…)

The base model of a 2 year old iPad mini is £569 in the UK. ITS ABSOLUTELY MENTAL the way apple are proving things here and I can’t fathom they won’t lose significant sales.

I seem to be in the minority of people who like the iPad mini 6. The jelly scroll is an issue if you look for it. I noticed it right away for a couple of days, and then I haven't ever since. The scaling I agree, is funny. Everyhting is very small, but that can to some degree be adjusted in settings. It's perfect for reading books and PDFs, bring with you anywhere, hold with one hand.

It's such an amazing little machine. I don't understand the hate for it.

Normally I would agree but since the Mini is basically kept in ones hand and in a closer distance than other iPads, it sorta works with the Touch ID. I hate Touch ID on my Air but on the mini it is ok. It's not annoying compared to the Air and its Touch ID.

There’s only a select few who don’t value the mini. I think most people who review the mini still say it’s the best ipad. From a point tablet point of view maybe it is.

I have a lot of problems with Touch ID, especially in the winter. I live in a cold climate and do a lot of outdoor sports. My hands tend to get pretty dry and chapped up in the winter especially and Touch ID fails constantly for me. I also like using the Mini in the car instead of dealing with the garbage CarPlay UI. It's much easier to just look at it to unlock versus having to touch something.

I too love my Mini 6 as well, even though I bought one in May this year. It’s the perfect size for reading books, browsing the web and social media. I love that I can use it one handed. I don’t look into the issues that other people have and use it for what I use it for. I plan to keep mine for 4+ years. Even if Apple were to launch a Mini 7 later this year, I won’t be upgrading. I also have a 12.9 iPad Pro 6th generation, that I use differently than the Mini and it get just as much use as the Mini.
