Amazon today has kicked off early Prime Day deals on Apple's 2024 M3 MacBook Air, with new record low prices on both the 13-inch and 15-inch models. This is the first time we've tracked discounts on these computers in a few weeks, and they're reaching up to $200 off original prices.

Prices start at $898.99 for the 8GB RAM/256GB SSD 13-inch MacBook Air, which is down from $1,099.00. For the bigger model, prices start at $1,099.00 for the 8GB RAM/256GB SSD 15-inch MacBook Air, down from $1,299.00.

Shoppers should note that Best Buy is offering an extra $50 in savings on these computers, but you'll need to have a My Best Buy Plus or Total membership in order to see the discounts. Otherwise, if you don't have a membership, you can find matching prices on every M3 MacBook Air at Best Buy.

You can get the 256GB model for $799.00 (matched at Best Buy) and the 512GB model for $999.00 (also matched at Best Buy), and they're both $200 off and all-time low prices.

They really aren't "on sale"

For several years now the MSRP has been boosted beyond where it should be so as to create these "it's on sale!" situations, often even right when they a product is first released.

It's all just pricing mind games and tactics
So tiring

I hate that Apple has devolved to this

$1299 for the 16/512 Air is really good.

These are phenomenal Macs. And they support dual displays if the lid is shut; our enterprise ordered 1500 of these when announced. It's the new Mac standard unless someone is a dev or has a verifiable need for a 14/16" Pro.

The MacBook Air has been $999 for a decade. That's what the 13" M2 sticker price is today. Apple is not 'boosting prices to create sales'.

I've been waiting for a 16GB MacBook deal. Is this the best value we've seen lately?
Ideally, I'd pay a little less and get an M2. (Stepping up from a 2014 MBP... it'll be a game changer for me either way.)

I believe that Amazon, Best Buy, etc. are trying to liquidate the stocks of M3 Air before the M4 Air are released in a few months.

In any case, I have to recommend the Apple refurbished store for those that also want to get a great price.

That's not true. The starting price for the newest MacBook Air has been pretty stable for the last 10 years, hovering around $999 to $1099.

This doesn't include older models being sold more cheaply.

Picked up an open box special M2 15” Air with 16/1TB for $1,188 yesterday and I’m thrilled. Would have loved an M3 but I couldn’t turn this one down.

Good luck and happy shopping to you guys! 😁
