Has anybody run into issues with audio/video sync issues with the Amazon Prime Video app? I don't have any issues with Netflix, Disney+, Plex or any other stream. But with Amazon Prime it's annoyingly noticeable.

I'm running an Apple TV 4K through a 7-year old Sony AVR, hooked up to a TCL Roku TV.

I tried running the wireless audio sync with my phone (hadn't even heard of it until I started looking last week) but it didn't make any difference.

Anybody else have issues with this or know what I could try to fix this?

Same thing happens if you connect the ATV directly to the TV?

I run my ATV through my 4k receiver and don't have any sync issues.
Why would I think of the most obvious thing to test? ;)

I'm running a different ATV 4K through a 4K receiver to a projector and don't have the issue. And an Apple TV HD (3rd gen) directly into a TV without problems. I figure it's either AVR or the TV, but this is the only Apple TV I have plugged into a 4K TV so I wasn't sure if anybody else ran into similar issues.

Perfect reason to get a new AVR :D

The Amazon app has always been a bit of a mess.
the regular and UHD are different items in the library. and it will present the regular as the only option sometimes, unless you specifically ask for UHD
I've also found inconsistencies in quality between different platforms for the same item, (example: My TV will have HDR, and the aTV won't for the same show, been a while, so don't remember exact details)

is it only one item?
if it's available, try the other version of it (UHD vs regular)

Try turning off "reduce loud sounds", not sure it will help, but will reduce processing by the aTV, and might speed it up.

possibly try re-installing the app.

If you have the option, try using a different version of the app, (use the app built into your TV)

YES, I always have audio sync issues with Amazon on the ATV 4K, and only with Amazon.

Worst part is it isn't consistent. Most shows are +2ms out of sync, other shows are 4, and I tried headphones which threw the audio about 14ms out of sync. Also, some shows shift a bit and I have to re-adjust sync a couple times per hour.

It seems like maybe it gets better if I turn off "Match Frame Rate" in the Apple TV settings, but I don't want to dig into that menu every time to watch an Amazon show. And then have to switch it back when I use another app.

I have a 2017 LG C7 65" OLED. I haven't tried the LG Amazon app lately, because to my eyes the Apple TV app is better quality video. Also I haven't tried hooking the Apple TV directly to the TV, because I don't want to use the TV speakers, ever. :)

I have a Denon receiver, and a remote app for it on my iPad mini, so I can adjust the sync without diving into the Denon's settings. It's still annoying because it's a pretty small touch target so the slightest touch sets it to 8ms when I only want 2ms.

Hope this can be fixed some day.

I find that watching on the iPad gives audio sync issues. It starts ok and gets progressively worse until I come out of the show and go back in.

Watched a few more Amazon shows yesterday with Match Frame Rate turned off in the ATV Settings. Not a single audio sync problem. Guess that's my workaround for now.
Perhaps Amazon streams their video frames differently from every other app.

I already had Match Frame Rate turned off, so that suggestion didn't help.

I did try plugging the TV straight into the Apple TV and sure enough it worked fine there.

Clearly the receiver is the problem. It's not a 4K receiver, but I just recently hooked up this 4K TV. It was fine with the old HDTV, as far as I can remember. I probably need to replace the receiver with one that supports 4K pass-through.

It's not a huge deal right now since we don't watch Amazon Prime that much, but it would be good to get it fixed anyway.
