Why has nobody done this before?
I find it a bit worrying when companies can get broad, sweeping patents for stuff like this. It was meant to protect original ideas. It wasn't done on 1 April was it?

From what I read, it was more about protecting Amazon from any similar patents filed by anybody else. They don't give two hoots about our product shots.
But that can't be a real surprise.
So how long before someone patents the use of sunlight to illuminate a photograph?
