Can't figure this one out. Ordered some toilet paper, which was the highest rated by Consumer Reports by something like 20 points. Thought I would try it for fun even though it cost almost 4 times that what you would buy at Costco.

1. Placed an order with Walmart. UPS said it was delivered, but it wasn't. Got a refund.

2. Placed an order via Amazon. UPS said it was delivered, but it wasn't

3. Place another order with Amazon. UPS said it was delivered, but it wasn't.

Amazon in both cases refunded my purchase with a courtesy credit as well.

Checked my door webcam for shipments 2 & 3. No UPS delivery at the time the deliveries were supposedly made.

Called UPS. They told me that the two Amazon tracking numbers that I was given had a different name and a different shipping address.

I place a ton of orders with Amazon and this has only happened once before when I ordered a very expensive knife. Sorta knew it might be a scam. but knew I would get my money back and I did when it "shipped" to a different name and address.

I assume that the Walmart order, which I couldn't check, also went to a different name and address. So I can't figure this out - what is going on that orders for the same product, from 3 different sources (Walmart and 2 different Amazon vendors) all experience the same problem? Since I get my money back and someone is paying for shipping something somewhere, and this is a very low $ item, if it is a scam what is going on?

Although some threads here may be related to it, this ain’t a forum about toilet paper or Amazon.
Anyway, I’m actually interested in whatever you’re gonna find out about this. It surely is strange.

This happens to me mail! In my mailbox I get bills text from be from Spectrum! However I don't have an account with them! Sometimes screwups happen in life beyond your control! With porch pirates running today it's be to get a large Woden box near you door labeled Deliveries! That should help too!

Are you using your correct address? Maybe somone close by has a 10 year windfall of toilet paper. ;) Seriously this sounds bizarre. Maybe Amazon and/or Walmart had some technical issue with their order creating technology, but it seems especially odd that both companies would have the same issue unless it is something at UPS and originating orders that was having the issue. Maybe a bootlegger somewhere in the system is purposely diverting shipments for profit, but that would be strange to if all this stuff was going to the same wrong address…?

Are you using your correct address?

Yes. I receive lots of Amazon shipments (using my stored Amazon shipping address) with no problem.

No way to tell. For privacy reasons UPS won't tell give me the name or ship to addresses. Very annoying. Same thing happened when I encountered a fraudulent IRS 1040. The IRS wouldn't give me the information.

Were these purchases sold and fulfilled by Walmart and Amazon themselves? If a "Marketplace" seller was involved with the shipments, it is not uncommon for mixups to happen because many of these sellers are individuals who handle all aspects of a sale themselves, by hand. Or they are merely acting as a conduit to whoever actually holds the stock and puts together shipments (often called "drop shipping" by the get-rich-by-working-at-home crowd).

A marketplace seller is my guess (we sell that way at work). My best guess is they made a mistake with the first order and had the wrong delivery address associated with you. On the second order the ‘system’ remembered your name and the wrong delivery address. So most likely they got both deliveries.

All were marketplace purchases. I place a lot of such orders, both from Amazon and Walmart, and have never had any problems. Just correctly received 2 marketplace orders today from Amazon. The wrong name and address on 3 different orders, 3 different vendors and 2 different websites all for the exact same product?

o me whole things sounds like you Amazon Account was hacked!

It it were hacked wouldn't I see a lot of unexplained orders or address changes to my account? None of that has occured.

Just checked the invoices for the 2 Amazon orders. The name and address on the invoices is correct.

This may or may not be the case in your situation......but of course there are plenty of marketplace sellers who don't actually handle any product themselves. They're just middlemen taking orders and will then send the order on to be fulfilled by a wholesaler. As a result, you can buy the exact same product from 3 different vendors, but all 3 orders for the product will actually be shipped from the common supplier.........and if the fulfillment company shipping the product has your info screwed up in their system, then that might explain what's happened to you.

I haven't had this happen to me but I have received Amazon packages sent to my name and address that I never ordered so it could be something similar. In all cases Amazon told me to just keep the packages (they never had anything that I was even remotely interested in though).

Sounds like the problem is UPS as that's common to all your problems no matter where you've purchased from.
