If you take the mini 5 from March 2019 as a starting point, it actually comes out as almost exactly $499 today (and $495 at release). I don’t think the mini 5 was overpriced.

and it was 64gb. The mini 4 was actually even more expensive. Its always been about the same cost or more than the plain iPad.

There is nothing about the iPad Mini that involves some expensive challenge of "miniaturization"

It's larger than every single iPhone and has the same guts

It's you who are moving the talking point. Explain again how (taking your original comparison) the mini 7 is overpriced compared to the mini 5, taking inflation into account. I don't think the mini 2 was overpriced. But if you do, then okay, let's go back to the mini 5.

Nice. iPadOS isn’t quite there yet for me to use it as a Mac replacement, but it’s getting close. M series chips should be able to run Mac apps with no modifications. We should be able to pin files to the Home Screen and dock, and create smart stacks like on the Mac.

Or how about something as simple as natively accessing an app’s settings without having to exit and go to the settings app? I’m not asking for a full menu bar like the Mac, but maybe a universal settings icon somewhere in the corner. At the very least, when you Haptic Touch an app icon, there should be a settings button there to access that app’s specific settings.

well call it whatever you like but it’s never been the cheapest ipad or best bang for buck spec for spec likely for a variety of reasons. the screen itself has a higher ppi than the air and the plain ipad.
