There is nothing about the iPad Mini that involves some expensive challenge of "miniaturization"

It's larger than every single iPhone and has the same guts
How many display lines do you think exist that can produce the curved corners that Apple does?

I’m not saying it’s a worthy trade off, but these are custom displays that only get made for the mini line. You have to pay for that.

The pricing discussion is ridiculous. Of course it's overpriced relative to the development and production cost. Vastly overpriced.

Apple prices relative to the value you all ascribe to the product. And the Mini is most likely out of balance compared to other Apple devices (i.e., higher price/value ratio compared to other consumer devices) because it's mostly targeted at (and bought for) business use - there the price is less relevant...

I’ve had the 11 in air 5 but sold it, just felt a little awkward for my use cases of browsing and reading. I ended up getting the mini 7 the last time it was on sale and I actually really like it!

Good price. Apple should have priced it at the current sale price. Not expecting any further discount in the near future. Good that the sale price is for all the colors.

Best Buy also has the iPad Air 11-inch (M2) for $499.99 and the Apple Pencil Pro is $99.99.

As much as I like the 9” form factor, I truly despise how weirdly the app icons are laid out. Even if I get past that quirk, I cannot stand 60 hz devices in 2025. Launching a $500 iPad with 60hz is an instant no from my side at least. A 90 hz should be the bare minimum standard at this point.

There needs to be a mini pro with OLED. I want the form factor but not willing to make the compromise on the display.
