Amazon has been offering a string of great discounts over the past day, introducing low prices on AirPods 4 and AirPods Pro 2, 11th generation iPad, and Apple Watch Series 10. Today, it's continuing this trend with new record low prices across the entire M4 MacBook Air lineup, with $150 off every model in every color available on Amazon.

Starting with the 13-inch models, Amazon has up to $150 off all three of the new configurations of this notebook. Prices start at $849.00 for the 256GB model, then raise to $1,049.00 for the 16GB/512GB model and $1,249.00 for the 24GB/512GB model. All of these are new all-time low prices, beating the previous lows by more than $50.

Moving to the larger display models, Amazon has both 512GB versions of the 15-inch M4 MacBook Air on sale this week, as well as the 256GB model. The 16GB/512GB model is available for $1,249.00 and the 24GB/512GB model is on sale for $1,447.00. Similar to the 13-inch models, these are all new record low prices.

How many people use a MacBook with 256G storage ?
I am 1 of maybe a few...I use my Mac for video watching, paying bills, jumping on the socials, email, photo mgmt., and maybe a few others I would be doing on my phone at home. I have never needed even remotely close to this much storage, but I am probably a low-end user on that side of things.

I surprisingly can with icoud storage helping offload. Every once in a while System Data (stuff you cant actually see what it is!!!) randomly takes up all my empty space and it takes me hours to figure out what/where to delete, or just restore the whole computer.....
Next computer will have 512GB, but if the system wouldn't randomly keep filling up, 256GB could last a long while with using icloud to offload all my photos/vids/messages.

How many people use a MacBook with 256G storage ?
I think a lot of students...whether high school or college. My son's been using his M1 Macbook Air for 4+ years now and he's now in 9th grade. He's never come remotely close to using even 1/2 of it due to these points:

  1. Most importantly, all the school work is on Google docs
  2. He doesn't collect any media on his machine like MP3s, WAVs, video files, etc. which would relatively eat up 100GB pretty easily
  3. All his zillions of pix and videos are on his 512GB iPhone
I'd like to get him a new M4 Air (especially at these prices) but when I ask him how his machine's doing he says it's awesome and loves it. The techie in me wants to get him a new machine but "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" is my true motto.

Back in the early 2000s we used to backup phones to computers and store all the photos and videos which needed a lot of storage. Now with iCloud and Apple One subscription offering TBs of storage, I barely have anything to store on my Mac.

The only things that would really take up meaningful storage now would be games (which there are very few of for Mac) and video storage (which largely has been replaced by on demand streaming services).

I’m actually curious what you have taking up most of your storage space on you Mac?

I use much more storage on my iPad than my Mac because I store podcasts and photos on my iPad locally. On my MacBook, I just use apps and a few critical documents. The vast majority of my documents are in Dropbox.

Tempting price, but my rose gold M1 MacBook Air with 8GB RAM 256GB SSD is still working just fine for my secondary "travel" laptop. Will probably only upgrade if the battery doesn't last more than 6 hours and/or needs to be serviced.

Very good price for the new MacBook Air. Planning to get the 15" model sometime this year. Not sure from where I will be buying
