I wonder when we will start seeing deals on the Neo.

Not sure that will be anytime soon.
They are flying off all the shelves it sounds like.

We want deals on the MacBook Neo!

In the US, Costco has the first Neo discount I’ve seen. Not much, but base is available for $589. 🙃

I was disappointed to learn that Apple won't match these deals in store.

They are all within the "max 10% off" range that they've been known to "quietly" match if a customer walked in a brought it up.

I tried this the other day and it was no dice. I don't get it. Frustrating.
These are legit sales from authorized major retailers (usually Amazon & Best Buy are in sync on these, among others).

Why would they? They run their own retail operation and you’re free to buy it from them or anyone else at whatever price is being charged. Just order it from the cheaper seller. The product and warranty are literally identical.

It's good customer service to honor such a thing (thus why it was a quiet, non advertised, policy)
That used to be a point of pride for Apple.

I think the fact that it’s unstated is meant to give local managers discretion to honor another price or not. It could be that Apple doesn’t want to encourage such steep discounting less than a month after launch.

Very good prices for a new product. Think there will be even higher discounts in the coming months along with discounts on M4 models. The Air is an excellent computer. I have the 15" M4 and M2 variants and they are great machines.

Amazon UK prices for the Neo have discounts of around 7%. Silver 512GB is £649 for example. We never get these kinds of discounts in the UK this early on new Apple products (MBA M5’s around 10% off, same with MBP) so not sure whats going on, but great for us consumers though!

Does anyone know if the 13" MBA has the M5 w/ 8 GPU cores, or the 10-core GPU chip? Want to buy the 10-core GPU model, and looked over on the Amazon page and still can't figure it out. (I don't even know if it will make a difference, just interested in making it slightly more future-proof...)

The base 13” 16/512 GB has the 8 core gpu i believe. You have to get the 1TB version for 10 core GPU, but you also get even faster SSD speeds!
