I'm not concerned about tracking. I just don't trust Bezos regarding listening in while I make passionate love to my wife :) I do trust Apple's HomePod.

Hardly use iTunes anymore since Amazon unlimited streaming quality is great and now they are upgrading to HD. Also use the Echo which is ok sound wise and integrates with amazon prime.
Have the iPhone XR tired of taking pictures when picking up the damn thing, wish I had kept the SE. Appletv remote is just sad Keyboards sad. Will anything "good" ever come from apple again? :(

The amazon headphones and their HomePod competitor aren’t priced much cheaper then apples offerings.
The headphones are about $30 bucks cheaper and have fairly noteworthy Bose noise cancellation built in...not to mention they work with Alexa, Google or Siri. The HomePod competitor is $100 cheaper and can decode Dolby Atmos, among other things. I think your assessment is rather off.

This article missed the most important part!!!

For $0.99. Samuel L Jackson's voice can be the voice of Alexa. In PG and R rated dialog!

"You want the Weather?! It going to be MF hot!!! Like 100 in the shade hot!"

Quoting so I have a reference to come back to you in the future when

Indeed, not only cheaper but more functionality.

it IS hypocritical and biased blind selective thinking too... Apple didn’t even tell you they had contractors listening to everything you said, let alone let you opt out of it! Yet somehow that’s better then Amazon? And how do you know Apple aren’t selling your data because they don’t seem to tell you anything until someone catches them! Amazon doesn’t sell your data to advertisers so far as I know.

they said you can add a sub, and a sub would sound better then the HomePod guaranteed, some home cinemas have four or more..
I am waiting to see what people make of the sound quality. I also think the IKEA Sonos lamp is good too.
Come on. They'd be wide open for a massive lawsuit if that ever came out in public. Don't be a conspiracy theorist. We live in an age of massive public leaks. How would they keep that a secret? 1000s of people work at apple and would know about this. You're saying not even one of them would sell that story to a newspaper?

Don't be a conspiracy theorist.

They are in effect selling your data, Apple doesn't deny they capture everything about you from their devices just like Amazon, Facebook or Google.

They claim that what makes them different it that only they have access to it, they do use that data to target you with ads and the like but no 3rd party gets enough information to identify you or is given any specific personal information.

Either way, Apple harvests just as much information from its customers as all the rest.

So you have “no interest” in any of their tech hardware...yet here you are. One of the VERY FIRST to rush in to view an article about their tech hardware. Amazing
well, I am an avid MR reader. Still my point is valid. I don't care much for Amazon tech and have no plans to buy one at this time, never really did. Love their service and use all the time. Not sure what you feel is amazing. smh

This is categorically untrue. Apple does not capture "everything" about you. Certainly nowhere near what other companies do, like Google, who literally mine your emails.

I was interested in the glasses but already have Bose with prescription lens but it doesn't look like amazon's will be iphone compatible. The ring seems fun, but who knows how well it really works till tested. If I hear back from them I'll probably snag it to give it a go.

Yes, they do. Read the small print, when you do an information request much of what they collect is not there, why? Because they claim that all the information they collect from users (a lot) is scrambled, identities removed and it becomes nothing more than data that only they can use.

You can believe whatever you want, but they harvest data from users on a massive scale.

You keep believing that Apple is not doing it if it makes you feel better.

I don’t see how hiding things until they are caught red handed has prevented big lawsuits against them? History seems to be proving otherwise..
land I’m not a conspiracy theorist, just smart enough to not blindly believe Apple. They collect data and they FULLY support third party apps collecting as much data as they can on you, I can provide a 4 year old interview if you want where a game developer tells you all they capture on you, and that’s from Touch Arcade this sites sister site! So yeah I’ve known for a few years how hypocritical Apple is with data protection.
