So I linked my iCloud account and iCloud calendar integration works fine as far as I can tell.

What doesn't seem to work and I'm not sure if it is supposed to or not, is reminder integration. Alexa can see my reminder lists as I can check/uncheck them in the calendar settings, but if I ask her what's on my calendar for today, she doesn't give me any reminder information.
I don't think Reminders is supposed to work with this. I got excited when I saw my tasks list in the Calendar option in the Alexa app, but it does not seem to sync anything. The news release only mentions calendars, so I don't think reminders is part of this. Would be nice though.

Probably soon. I wonder if this integration is part of a detente rumored between Apple and Amazon over the Prime/Apple TV thing. Hope so. It just makes our life easier.

I contacted Amazon and they stated reminders are not integrated so Alexa won't work with them. Not sure why they show as calendars though.

There is a setting in the iOS app where you can select a calendar to be the default for new events, but I don't see a way specify beyond that.
Aware of that and that's the frustration. I have 3 calendars set up: personal, work and family. Siri will only set calendar appointments on default. Can't say add to my personal calendar lunch with my girlfriend on Saturday at... something it should be able to do as it can tell the difference between different reminder lists.

Like wise can't say what have I got this week on my work calendar. A, what I imagine, would be an easy feature to implement and something a personal assistant should be able to comprehend

How would I do this?
I have Alexa on my Amazon Fire TV remote control, and I have Apple computers and an iPad. Calendar is already on iCloud so it syncs with all 3 of my Apple devices. So where would I find the Alexa app?

There is an iOS and Android app you can use, or you can login to your Alexa account using a browser from your computer at this link. I just checked and the calendar settings are there in the web page, so I think you can activate from there.

So, if iCloud integration is here, why can't we have CalDAV integration so we can use ANY calendar with CalDAV, not just iCloud?

Been messing around and managed to get it working, albeit intermittently....
Had a development for those having issues...

I thought it might've been a problem on the apple side, but it signs in fine, allows me to add to my calendar through alexa, but often fails to read it back...

But only when I say "what's on my calendar" or "what's on my calendar tomorrow" specifically.

If I say "what's on my calendar TODAY" or "what's on my calendar tomorrow MORNING", or I specific a particular date, it works perfectly fine.

Seems like an issue AVS side, can someone test and confirm?

I've just tired and Alexa is fine here (in the UK).

I just tried all four variations you listed here and they all work fine.

Bizarre.

Maybe my iCloud account is sentient and hates alexa...

EDIT: it all seems very intermittent, I've asked the same command multiple times and some times it'll say "having trouble accessing calendar" and others it'll just fire off what's on my calendar normally.

Not really sure what could be causing it.

Stuff like this right there challenges my imagination a LOT how Apple can neglect such basic functionality.

It can't be oversight, then again, they do a lot of weird things.

I have found IFTTT has a recipe that will add to-do's to iOS reminders.
Have not had a chance to use it yet, but FYI.

I bet my situation is not unique: We have one Alexa device in our kitchen, but we each have our own icloud accounts, hence our own calendars. It sounds like we have to choose which one of us gets to use Alexa for our icloud calendar. We both cannot.

Am I missing something, is there a way we both can use it for our respective calendars?

Welcome news as i love my apple products and iCloud interface. I purchased the echo today and set up was very easy. Likewise the sync set up for iCloud was very simple and to be fair it works very well. i.e if i ask Alexa whats in my calendar she tells me regardless of whether that event was created on my Mac device via my iCloud (ical) or Gmail (calendar) account - so I'm very pleased about that. However, I'm not clear if the following is part of the upgrade or not because this part i cannot get to work. When i ask Alexa to create an event she does so very nicely, but only to my Gmail calendar and not to my iCal calendar. Thus the sync works one way but not via Alexa creating a new event!!!!!!!!

Welcome any advice from Mac and Echo users on this as to whether this should be part of the upgrade or if not hopefully it can be addressed on next upgrade.

You need to change that setting at the bottom that tells Alexa where to create new events. You now have it set to Google, so any events Alexa creates will only go to the Google calendar.

Great this has been implemented.

Just been playing around and Alexa will tell you the next four calendar events by saying:

"Alexa whats on my calendar for the week"

and she gives the option to hear four more.

Not ideal! ....it looks like Amazon are working on "Alexa what on my calendar for next week" so things will get better.
