Hello everyone,
I was curious if there's any particular reason to go through Apple directly instead of buying from Amazon. Amazon pretty much always has the deals, so I usually buy from there. However, last time I was in the Apple store for help with my Apple watch I was told they couldn't do as much since I didn't buy it directly from them. Thoughts?

Apple has much better customer service (and return policy) from start to finish.
Amazon has been known to make it difficult to get refunds not to mention a failure to support customers who had packages stolen or the wrong item delivered.

99.5% of the time I buy my toys directly from Apple. The few times I have bought from Amazon due to a better price, I understood I was opening myself up to trouble And keep the dollar amount low versus buying from Apple. I try to take into account the totality of the respective company as a whole, as to the aforementioned when making a purchase.

I've read, and heard, of experiences where people have received items from Amazon that have been returned from other customers. I can't speak to whether this ever happens with high dollar Apple items, but I can state from first-hand experience that I received a used Magic Numeric Keyboard a couple of years ago. I noticed right away the box wasn't wrapped in cellophane (the way Apple used to wrap products). The keyboard was also dirty, especially the white back which had dark smudges all over. I returned it to Amazon with no issues, but it was inconvenient. I have purchased an iPad from Amazon within the past year, but no Macs.

I bought my first AppleTV via Amazon, better price and quicker delivery vs Apple. Had troubles with it during the setup process. I honestly don’t recall exactly what. After spending too much time with Apple support, they basically said they couldn’t do much since I got it from Amazon. So I returned it, drove to the Apple store in the mall and had no problems. Since then, I still ordered AirPods and two Watches via Amazon, luckily no issues.

iPad I got from Best Buy, MacBook directly from Apple, phones Best Buy and Apple.

Alright. I think I'm going to get my Macs and iPads from either Best Buy or Apple then. As for Airpods, watches, or smaller stuff, I'll probably go Amazon.I normally get iPhones from my carrier, but I'm done with contracts after my 15P is payed, so I suppose Apple for that too. Thanks for your input everyone!
