Amazon’s $899 sale for base MacBooks Air

I’m not sure if this is the correct place to post this—or if the forum admins prefer not to post pricing in these forums at all.

In case this is ok—be advised that Amazon US seems to have a stellar deal for base MacBooks Air (excepting the silver color, which is $50 more than the others, but still a good deal I think). They are selling them new for $899 pre-tax with some shipping the same day and others the next day.

I assume this is a Memorial Day flash sale. Maybe the Neo is also putting pressure on this base model.

Mean while amazon canada gives us a whole $100 off for the 15" model for $1699 lol and no sale at all for the 13"
 
Just a heads up that the $200 deals off seem to be expanding. For those of you who need a bit more—24GB RAM (instead of 16GB) and 1TB SSD (instead of 512GB), Amazon is now offering all four colors in the US at $1299 (list price is $1499). As far as I can tell, this is now the lowest ever price for these specifics. Before I saw online $100 and $200 off. If you don’t need the better screen, that is definitely MacBook Pro capability territory.

That seems like a mistake, but if you can get them to honor it . . . wow. Assuming it is new, that would have to be the best deal (given the configuration you mention) I've ever seen on a MacBook Air.
