MP All Models AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT / 6900 XT for macOS?

Thanks for the confirmation. This doesn’t make sense to me. Nothing has changed with the GPU, why would its requirements change with a different OS? Not saying I don’t believe you, only that it makes no sense, and should be solvable via programming. I guess things have moved on now though, I don’t see the guys at OCLP working on it.

Apple changed the compilation flags with Ventura, no more supported Macs without AVX2 support.
After Ventura GPU drivers require AVX2 and the only GPUs that still work with injected Monterey drivers are Polaris and VEGA.
OCLP does not have access to the source of drivers and any other subsystems, so, only an AVX emulator or making Monterey drivers work with Ventura/Sonoma/Sequoia/Tahoe would work…
OCLP is moving at a slow pace and I bet that NAVI GPUs is a very low priority.
What a bummer. Where is the original source/discoverer of this (specifically that it is the configuration flags)?
A kernel panic happens if an unimplemented instruction is executed. Disassemble the binaries listed in the kernel panic to see what instruction caused the panic. The set of instructions used in a binary is defined by the compiler and the compiler flags. We don't have access to the source code used by the compiler so we can't easily fix this.

But will a xfx rx6800 319 qick work on a mac pro 5,1 running win11 or did i just buy a card i cant use 😬
If this works on win11 mac pro 5,1, were can I get hold of bios files to flash my card

After the GPU firmware is flashed, yes. Before doing the patching, no.
Flash with the card installed in a PC, can't be flashed with a MacPro5,1.
I've linked to the page on this thread where the firmwares are when I've first answered to you, why you are asking it again?

Sapphire NITRO+ RX 6900 XT OC Specs
AMD Navi 21, 2285 MHz, 5120 Cores, 320 TMUs, 128 ROPs, 16384 MB GDDR6, 2000 MHz, 256 bit
1) comfortably fit in a MP 7,1
2) need any add'l flashing
3) need the existing MPX card removed to function in a dual boot system

No, too big length wise.
Maximum MacPro7,1 available internal length should be around 305mm, TechPowerUp have this card measuring 310mm.
Modern UEFI PC GPUs are supported by MacPro7,1 without any flashing, but if you buy a 6x50 card, you gonna need to flash the 6x00 firmware to it.
Usually not necessary, but with an oversize card is a trial and error situation.

Try to find the OEM 6900XT somewhere, there should be used ones.
