I have been waiting for 2016 MacBook Pro. CPU is known. Intel 6th general quad-core for sure. Apple may put some magic on the body structure, but I'd rather to keep it for surprise. GPU will be more than likely AMD Polaris which AMD is rumored to announce at around the beginning of June.
Then all of sudden, AMD R9 M400 started to show up on AMD website. First of all, I thought the posting was a mistake since the company has not announced the new graphic card yet. I continue searching through the web, then found out that AMD R9 M400 series are in fact re-brand of M300 series.

I was naively shocked to know that AMD has been fooling consumer for years. Worse, Apple was also a part of this product misrepresentation.
Remember that 2015 MacBook Pro uses AMD Radeon R9 M370X which is based on Cape Verde graphic processor which was originally introduced in 2012.

I feel betrayed and sad.

We've had re-badges from AMD the last several years, even at the high-end (barring the Fury chips, AFAIK). Everything else has been a slight tweak and re-badge from the previous model. Adjust some frequencies, tweak some power efficiency, up the vRAM, change the name, release it, etc.

I'm hoping to see nVidia as the dGPU option again for this reason. Higher overall performance, better performance-per-watt, newer technologies, etc.
