Looks great for all of us Mac Pro users stuck with AMD GPU's. At least in the next release version of Cinema 4D we will get an openCL GPU rendering engine that can also be combined with CPU compute power. It will be very interesting to see how this fleshes out.

Maxon said one of the reasons for picking ProRender was because of having such a big mac user base which uses AMD GPU's. Does this give some hope of a new Mac Pro? Does Maxon have the inside track on knowing whats apples plans are with the Mac Pro?

"With AMD’s GPUs the only discrete graphics cards offered in the Mac Pro – and now the new MacBook Pros – the company needs a GPU rendering solution that supports AMD hardware."
