american applecare on foreign products

Will an applecare agreement bought in the US work on products from other countries? And is the "features" in the applecare the same as features in other countries? The products in question is mainly iPod nano and Macbook. The reason i'm asking is because applecare are much cheaper in the US and i don't wanna spend more money than i have to😛
