The late 2014 Mac Mini has a combined analog/digital audio out jack. An alternative to using a standard analog cable is to use a digital cable so that the digital to analog converters on your amp are utilized instead of having it done inside the Mini. It's likely the converters on your nice Rotel amp are better than the ones in the Mini.


You didn't say what kind of cable you're using so perhaps you're already doing this.
