Running a Dev or Public Beta, Apple has good reason to have the right and means to insure future updates. The only thing I'd like, is to first insure and ASK the user to have a current backup done before proceeding.
ASK?....but..... how does  get to screw people then?
they seem to think they own OUR computers.

I just ran an Asus ZenBook lately while Microsoft was devious trying to trick me into a office package
upon launch, I declined and had the liberty to update when I needed.
there was not red 1 on the icons, no suggestions like  does nowadays.
if I did not get a excellent price for the laptop I would be using that now
instead of my MacBook Air M1 which seems to need an upgrade since Monterey 2024 is worse than Mavericks.
I can't revert to Monterey 2023 which did not accept a time machine reinstall from Sonoma.
this aint you older brothers  company anymore.

personally I have other interests than computers this year
so I just laugh off their new AI which is just a data hogging trick while the feature seem feeble!

entertaining post!

am pretty sure ppl at apple are smart enough to know we own our macs... as well as macusers being smart enough to know that the OS is apple's. and so many things we can: use, not use. turn on. or turn off. easy.

as a basic OS (without using AI, etc), sequoia is great here, and i can get all my work done (and some play as well).
