Would you buy a 30" iMac? I would.
that would be awsome!
they should make it like a 42", that would be a true apple Tv
Depends on if the footprint was still small.
i dont see why it woudnt be, it would be the same thickness as the current imacs, just taller and wider
Just like that PC that's been on Engadget lately. 42" HDTV with built in top-of-the-line PC. Two price points.
$3800 and $10000
Would you buy it? I wouldn't.
Yeah, but it would be heavier...I mean I don't think it would make a significant difference or anything, I was just saying.
I wouldn't get one.
That would be sick. Id buy that in a minute (if i had the money)
Currently, a 30" LCD would be a long-term enough investment I'd prefer to have it able to be used with future computers and not tied into a system.
Now when 30" LCDs drop to around $500, I'll be fine with one in an iMac.
At some point it gets to big if you ask me. I've got a 17" imac that is plenty right now, but now and then I go into an apple store and jones for a 24.
I've got a sweet 46 Sony Bravia LCD. If we get an update to the mac mini soon, I'm going to add one to my home entertainment set up with a wireless k/b and mouse. That should be pretty cool. At that point, I'll be able to leave my PC laptop and my imac at work for good.
There will never be a 30" iMac in my opinion. It would just steal sales from the Mac Pro.
If there had been a 30" imac available back in november when I got my 24", I would have got one. Right now, I wouldn't buy one, but next time I want an upgrade, I would seriously consider it. It won't happen until the cinema displays go up to a size larger than 30" though.
Why would I pay $10,000 for a computer when I could just plug my laptop into my 50" plasma tv?
Or surf the net on my PS3 or Wii...
Refurb Mac Pro + Refurb 30" Cinema Display
Umm, no. I live in the City; a 30" would consume a single room.
The iMac treats the display as disposable, which does make sense if you think about it. Display technology evolves and old displays like CRT become outdated. Even LED will become outdated someday. Touchscreen is incorporated, etc.
May not steal too many sales if they make it glossy.
Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU like Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/420.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.0 Mobile/4A93 Safari/419.3)
maybe; I'd have to see it. And it would need a good graphics card bto to drive that beast effectively.
Good luck getting Apple to put a good graphics card in an iMac
Depends. If it was fully upgradeable (video, processor, HDD, etc), I would consider it. Especially since I do a lot of 3d rendering and graphic design work. Plus movies would look even better.
