Hey keaton, thats a cool site, i m goin to register.... And maybe i get to post one or two of my macs... :D

Sounds good. What you do now, is make a new page, call it whatever you like and put your photos (or make a gallery, left sidebar) in the page with your description.

Hey guys, I've been toying with showing you guys this for a bit, but a while back I made a Museum of sorts to display our collections. Currently, it only has my poorly photographed collection. I am working on enabling users to upload and post their collections themselves. I thought it would be a neat way to display our collections. Down the road, I'm thinking about providing a service to have a page dedicated to each person so they can link that page for their collections (instead of listing them in your signature). Here is the link, I might pay for an actual domain name down the road, but right now, it is http://apple.keatonburleson.com. Thanks guys. I'll update the post when I get the user feature working. Happy Thanksgiving!

EDIT: You can register!!!

All you need to do, is make a new page, call it whatever you like and put your photos (or make a gallery, left sidebar) in the page with your description.

You may want to post this in the Apple Collectors sub-forum as well, I'm sure those who frequent there would be interested in this as well.

Are there any Macs you DON'T have photos of that you're looking for? I'll snap some shots of anything I have that you might be looking for.

Right now, we don't have much. We have PowerMac G4 MDD's collection (original macs, iMacs out the wazoo, some iBooks, PowerBooks.) Another eMac, a nice PowerBook 12", or some 68k macs are welcome. Truly, its a museum for hosting all of your machines.

I am not sure whether or not non-Apple machines count, but I have a handful of 1980s portables. Although, I feel, this may defeat the purpose of it being an Apple museum site. I suppose I'll post them in my gallery if anything.

Okay, your decision. I love 80s era handhelds, makes me warm and fuzzy inside.

Also, I've been working on a godawfulish hackintosh. It needs ethernet, audio, and eventually CD/DVD drive, but thats later on! I just got it to boot reliably on Mavericks.

Alright, I'll try to get some good photos. Also, are you sure my account capabilities aren't too admin-like? It seem as though, if I make a new gallery, it gets put among those main-page, vastly public galleries. I don't want to make changes THAT large of I take some pictures of my 80s portables, but rather a more humble entry that can be seen if one clicks on my profile or something. The Macs are fine on clear display, but the 80s portables aren't so important that they would need to be, if you get what I mean. I mean, whether it is or isn't, it's not my decision, but just a suggestion.

Nice! My Hackintosh ended up having an issue where ethernet would stop working after it awoke from sleep. (restarting the machine or booting cold reset the process and fixed it for the short term). There was a fix my brother suggested, but something I did prior to trying out that fix just messed things up completely. I gotta get this looked over later... As for your Hackintosh, try scrounging around online for possible ethernet drivers, if you cannot obtain them with Multibeast. I believe my brother manually added the kexts to get the internet on mine working. Other than that, audio worked O.K. with Multibeast. The universal audio driver is something like "VOODOO 2.7.3".

Your account is a 'Contributor' account, which basically gives you the ability to write posts and make galleries. When you make a gallery, it doesn't go anywhere, its just 'coded' into the website. If you want it to display anywhere, you need to use the 'short-code' (its visible in the gallery screen). So no worries.

Also, try booting with the flags '-v -x -f'. With those, it should boot verbosely, in safe-mode, and rebuilt the kext cache. Kinda my fix all for me to get in a fix what I done broke. Voodoo 2.7.3 works well! Thanks! I'm trying to find a kext for my Intel 82562G, which is a PITA. I might try to just pop in a spare ethernet card I have floating around.

Yeah, we did end up using verbose mode at times. I think it's best if I do a re-install and see if my brother can do that fix he was telling me about, considering he knows more about the fix than I do.

It's good the audio driver worked for you! I used 2.7.3 as well, and got OKAY sound. It was a little quiet though, and made my speakers crackle with high-enough volume. However, it was audible and good enough.

I sadly don't have a stand-alone ethernet card or mainstream WiFi card, but hopefully we can fix the issues with this. Otherwise the computer runs very nicely. You may experience that as well, and the fact that most things actually work out of the box! (such as standby, etc.)

Excellent! I got that ethernet card working, but I cannot get QE/CI graphics working on my 6790, so its a bit jittery on Safari and other stuff.

I am not sure how we got our graphics working... I remember an issue arising, but my brother dealt with it. Here, before boot-up, type: GraphicsEnabler=no

See if this helps. (-v before that if you want verbose mode, of course).

I tried, but now I'm trying a kext for my card that should enable QE/CI. Thanks man!

Yeah, no problem! Good luck with your Hackintosh. Once all the issues are hammered out, you have yourself a decent machine. (unfortunately I am not the most keen on this subject, nor are all the issues on my Hackintosh hammered out yet). I found that Mavericks runs WAY better than Windows 7; that really does show how inefficient Windows is, especially when Mavericks is like 4 years newer and isn't horribly light-weight.

Yeah, I've got to do a reinstall, FUBARed some stuff. OH well.

I registered and have some photos I would like to post. I doubt I have anything you are missing, but still would like to add mine.

I do have almost the full range of G4 towers-I'm only missing a "Yike!"-and would at least like to get those up there.

Its not really a 'one model' museum, it was designed for owners to document their collections.

Got a bunch of my current and previous machines on my site in my signature. Feel free to use whatever you want. Most pics are really bad (not much for photography) but there should be some you don't have on your site. Also, let me know which ones I can photograph again, if I still own them I'll try and get you a better pic.

Wow! You have a 1GHz PowerBook Ti, my 'dream machine'.

Had, sold it and it was not in the best of shape. My collection has changed since I put most of that up.

Ah darn. Oh well, but still, gotta love the Ti. Speaking of, I'm going to attempt to install it on my Ti since I have a spare HDD kicking around

That being the case, I'll get out my camera this weekend and get to work.

Now, the next question is how do I go about uploading photos? Should I just upload them to Photobucket and post them in the thread here?

Sure, that will work!
