Umm, why? It seems to make a lot more sense that the "everything in sight explodes" crap their coming out with now. I'm all for a movie that actually has some truth to it, esspecially if we can learn from it.

I agree with jadekitty24. This is the truth that is going on in our world, and we need to fix it.

Hopefully it will influence non active people to be active in preventing global warming.

It seems odd to me that anyone (Republican or Democrat) would pay to see this movie.

Why? There are republicans who will see it to get angrier and Democrats who will see it confirm their world view.

I imagine its a cheap enough movie to produce. It should pull in reasonable amount of money and if you tie in a book you could be swimming in cash.

Would it still seem odd if a libertarian watched the movie?

That was ironic, i was listening to "Changes" by David Bowie before i paused it to watch that trailer... That's some scary stuff, and it doesn't look like anything will be stopping soon from our current trends. Hopefully this movie can do something.

Why?

I could just watch one of the other 100's of documentaries on Global Warming at home for free.

...And the main person wouldn't be a robot. :p :D

Hey now...I'm a republican and I'm interested in seeing the movie.

People think nowadays that by knowing whether someone is idealogically part of the right or the left, that they know everything there is to know about that particular person's beliefs.

I'm on the right. But I'm not here to deny the existence of global warming; I think it's a problem we need to approach, and one we need to approach a heck of a lot quicker than we have been. I liked Al Gore's quote, "Is the War on Terrorism the only war we should be fighting?"

Oh, Rush Limbaugh (no, I don't praise him, I listen to him sometimes tho...) did make a semi-comical/interesting point: "if the Hollywood left is so damn interested in preventing global warming, what the hell are they doing driving around suv's all the time? Kerry's certainly doing his part - he owns 2 yachts and 7 SUVs"

I know, I know, it's no ONE group's fault. But Rush's point is semi-interesting...lol;)

Was Rush on some pills at the time? j/k. He does make a good point. The hypocracy in Hollywood is pretty thick at times. "I want to save the earth but I own a house that requires 75 tankerloads of oil to heat on a daily basis". Really, somebody actually said that

The trailer is no doubtedly too sensationalized. Global warming is very scary, I read a book about it that put me into a bad emotional state for a week and I'm generally quite emotionally stable...
but egads, it's almost like the republicans, playing on fear so much.
To me, I'm just scared to see the movie. Things like that can really depress me.
But I will see it, if it comes to theater in Nashville.

The movie's obviously going to be pretty biased as well...

Especially in recent months, I've read a lot on why global warming isn't really happening. There are lots of reasons why this could be happening other than "global warming" and it's mostly just normal fluctuation in global temperature.

Remember that Ice Age we had a few thousand years ago? Did a whole bunch of SUVs and CFCs release emissions that broke down the ozone layer and started global warming back then too?

Not to turn this into a debate on the realities of global warming, but a real (non political propaganda) documentary should present both sides of the argument.

reality

I for one wanna see the movie.

Did anyone notice he was running his presantation off of a powerbook?

Its at the begining of the movie.;)

It is true that global warming is going to happen reguardless of humans adding to the destruction. The real problem is whether we will have the technology or not to survive the next mass extinction. The more we contribute to global warming the shorter the time we have.

Yea but the difference is that this isnt some made up scary story.
Of course, very true.

But it still sounds like the republicans. Heh.

Not, but this may be a very good documentary. I am.... looking forward to seeing it, if that's in any way an approipriate term.

No, they would say were all gonna die and its the Democrats fault but we can protect you if you just vote for us. But if you want to die, vote for them. ;)

I am not trying to turn this into a political debate, but its funny because its true.

I'd see it because of Al Gore.

global warming is big and its scary, but guess what?
no movie will ever stop it, nor will anyone else cuz it happening already.
And after this movie has made its money and faded into blockbuster rentals.
it will be forgotten and burn up with the rest of us in the next comet strike.
