Because of Covid-19, myself and probably most other people are doing their Christmas shopping online.

I decided that I wanted to repurchase some items that I bought on Amazon last year so I went to my order history to quickly find them.

I was very surprised to find big increases over last year's prices for these items so I checked through other past orders and also found big price increases (the largest was close to 100%).

As an experiment if you have time, look through your Amazon order history and compare the prices now to then.

The only reason I mention Amazon here is because it's very easy to do a comparison between past order prices and current prices.

I think that you will find that such price increases as have occurred over the past twelve months are not confined to Amazon.

I didn't think that the price increases were just confined to Amazon. I just referred to Amazon because it's easy to compare past order prices to current prices.

I was honestly shocked how much the prices have gone up and I'm sure that it's everywhere.

Have you had a chance to compare for yourself your past order prices to current prices ?

I don't remember when we started noticing it here, but yeah, prices are going up in general.

Stuff I leave in my Amazon cart for later are always going up and down in price on a daily basis. It's been like that since even before COVID though.

A very handy resource for checking Amazon price variations is camelcamelcamel dot com. If you give this website the product you are interested in on Amazon, it will provide the price history for the past couple of years (for most products). If it looks like the price has fluctuated significantly, and you are not in a particular hurry to purchase the item, you can also establish a desired price and it will e-mail you when that price has been reached (when the price has dropped to your desired price).

Products that I have purchased multiple times on Amazon are often higher now, but not always.

I have not noticed, and sometimes I’m reordering items, but I’ve not been specifically looking for that.

Items that there was a recent "shortage" of or everyday use items like OTC have really increased.
Basic electronics appear to have stayed close.
A number of items I have purchased from 3rd party's show the 3rd Party entity no longer is in business.

@Plutonius - nice check!
