Noticed this last night, and really have no explanation for it.

Wife received her watch yesterday afternoon; opened it up, connected charger cable and immediately paired it to her phone.

Did the setup, the left it alone to finish up. Came back some time later, and using the watch app on her phone, was going over the options with her.

Under General-About, the watch was named after me instead of her.

The iPhone has her name instead of mine. I would have assumed the watch drew the name from the phone that it is paired with. Does Apple pre-name these watches after the buyer? I purchased it as a gift for her; even added a gift message and had the watch sent to her instead of myself. I cannot figure out how the watch was named after me after the initial setup when it was paired to her phone. Easy enough to correct, but just an oddity.

Anyone else see something similar?

GLS, thanks for posting the question. I'm also very interested in hearing about a solution. When I receive one of the virtual exercise/activity awards, it uses my spouse's name. No biggie, but I've yet to find how to resolve this.

maybe check and confirm your wife's phones name? Do not see how it would pick up your name if synced with her phone unless it has your name on it.

Checked and confirmed. Phone is in her name, not mine.

Did your spouse purchase the watch for you?

On the iPhone, in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendar > Contacts > My Info, is your wife's name showing there? If not, she needs to make a contact entry for herself, and put it there.

This is the trick guys. in contacts, I have my name in there, all contact infos, and it says ME.....when I first paired my watch, it kept applauding my hubby, and the Apple ID is in MY name.

It has to do with the contacts......

Yes, under -My Information- was my wife's name. Hopefully this should solve the issue. Thanks!

Thank you for the tip....however, on my wife's phone...this was blank.....I did add her name in this place.

Still have no idea why my name appeared on her watch.
