I believe the Airs always had it, up until now. It's funny that it flip-flopped back and forth with the MBPs though; original design had it, gone on the retina, only to return in 2016 and of course now it's missing on the current 14/16 inch.

Without the branding, it makes the choice of calling it a MacBook Air even more silly. If any Mac should be called just MacBook, this one is it.

apple makes these devices, and can call them whatever they want. once we buy one, we can call it whatever we want. so, you can buy an air, but call it simply 'macbook'. it's yours (i call mine 'babe'....) 🤣

I like this too on my air m2. No branding whatsoever. Apple is one of the few companies that can do this.

My point was that there is a huge Apple logo on the lid, so it's not quite "no branding whatsoever"!

true, the logo is ever-present. but am grateful that, when i work on the air, i don't have an ever-present line of text that tells me what i'm looking at (altho would be fun if it said 'Computer' or 'What You Lookin' At?' or something equally unnecessary) 🤣

I absolutely love that they’ve removed the branding from the bottom of the screen. Classy stuff. The only place it says MacBook Air is when you flip it over on the bottom plate in small print next to the model number.

I would be even okay if they removed the Apple logo from the top of the lid. Might just put a sticker over it now that I’m thinking..

Removing the branding is probably how they got it 0.1 pound lighter. I’ve heard that the weight reduction is so small that it really doesn’t exist.

Yeah, I love unbranded things.

I already bought the thing, I don't want to be a walking billboard for a company as well.
