We have been hearing this for years, I am never expecting this and to be honest I'm just really not interested in any future apple products after how amateur and ugly iOS7 was. I used to be a huge fan.

Why hang your kids school work on the fridge when apple has amateur kindergarden looking **** to show on your tv now!

Did you throw that image together? You could work for Apple! Flat drawings and stick figures are all the rage!

What really annoys me about iOS 7 is how its useful features make upgrading to it worthwhile. I'd rather not have to use the new interface, but I do want the features, so...

Well, I would see it as an large iMac! If philips tv is hex core, apple will do much better than that!

This product will be classy for office use with a wall mount.

Multi display support via Mavericks.

Flexible 60" TV anyone?

What's the point of getting in the low margin business of TVs? They're already simple enough to use. People don't need fancy software for him.

because you sell them the TV cheap and then roll them on the subscription service and a la carte services

Because your weak photoshop is an indication of anything. iOS7 is incredibly nice. It's very simple. Change the Background.

And 4K is a joke.

There is no way to produce 4K content while the world still catching up with HD. In TV stations storage and networks to manage HD content still demanding.

Then, the satellite signal give better bandwidth to more commercial channels like HBO or ESPN. So, you may be uploading content in HD but you may be be treated with a lot of compression and your signal will look SD.

So... 4K is a total joke, totally unrealistic for regular production, it may catch up in 10 to 15 years just as HD did.

I work with 4K daily and while you are partially right it's got much easier to work with in the past year or so. If the right compression codec is used it will take up no more space than HD on broadcast bandwidth.

But, you are looking at it the wrong way. As with HD the lead will be in 4K Movies as it was with Bluray.

4K cameras are becoming a lot more accessible and available. And cheap enough ENG crews etc.

It is a bit crazy though. I don't think most people know that cinemas are mostly 2k projectors!

I've never owned an Apple TV so I couldn't tell whether that was real or just a mock up. Had me worried for a second.

Also the biggest question is will is be OLED or just LCD. My guess is LCD. Also will it have built in 3D ? It should support it.

I think the Apple-branded TV set will use the IGZO technology flat panel Sharp developed--which will mean Sharp's underused factories in Japan may get a big upshot in production.

guys common! lets be serious for once.

4k TV = zero benefit for now as normal viewing distance won't show difference between full HD and 4k.

4k screens = massive benefit. So yeah, apple should make 4k screens as those make SENSE.

Can we please forget the TV crap for now? If apple releases TV then think it won't be 4K as it wouldn't benefit the customer and experience would give you nothing. They will offer experience in terms of special "content" and UI and of course design.

The only reason I want a 4K screen is for a computer monitor. Otherwise there is little reason. Future compressed 4k movies? Nah. A 40" 4k computer monitor would be amazing. So much screen work space.

Exactly. I think we'd love to see AutoCAD and Revit on 40 inch displays here.

With no plans for 4K content delivery, the only way I see a way Apple could really change this would be with the ability to background download the programs you want to watch.

Maybe if a deal with the program provider's could be reached, so downloads could be started earlier then air time. So when they air your ready to watch in glorious 4K.

I know a lot of people complain about internet connection speeds, but we need tech in other areas to get the lazy isp's to realise that upping networks speeds
= $$$$$

I know that all programs could not be available but if you could select the ones you want to download in 4K I will be in.

Plus please apple sort out your HD Audio codecs before any TV, why do I have to Bootcamp my Mini to get full HD sound????

glass covers?????
oh please apple dont be fools and make it super glossy. TV's are usually in bright living rooms, and people actually would like to see what they are intending to watch

4K Useless?

As someone who definitely sees the difference between HD and SD, I just can't see much improvement between HD and 4K that would justify the huge cost difference.

I don't need a APPLE 4K TV

I just want Apple to bust open the limits currently in their Apple TV device. It has so many more possibilities:

Siri
A camera for FaceTime
App Store (imagine all your apps available in your living room!)
TouchPad connectivity (if they can do their keyboard, they can do this)

I'll connect it to my budget 4K TV that I get at Best Buy when it comes down in price. I've never bought an Apple monitor and it will probably be the same thing with their TV if they ever make it.

I hope they get the media in place to show those resolutions off! Be a bit pants if they're still pumping out badly-compressed-compared-to-bluray 1080p content on a 4k screen.
