So I decided to check my bill to see how much iMessage is cutting into my texts already and its even more then I thought. Not to mention when this month finishes in the next 2 weeks I suspect it will be DRAMATICALLY more as the past few weeks ive been surprised as more and more of the send buttons in my convos are turning blue as my friends and business associates either upgrade to iOS 5 or run out and buy the 4s. this is only about a half month since even tho im a developer I didnt update to iOS 5 til the day before (Oct 11th)

    2835 SMS messages Sent/Received Aug 26th- Sept 25th
    1989 SMS messages Sent/Received Sept 26th - Oct 25th

How much has your usage changed since updating to iOS 5?

I have a friend who has never texted in his life (too old, saw no use for it). Now I get a handful of those free iMessages a day from his iPad.

If iChat becomes iMessage aware that would be something.

Mine dropped significantly, as expected. I have lots of friends with iOS devices, and it seems that most have upgraded to iMessage. So my official SMS count has dropped significantly.

I am probably going to cancel my SMS services next month as I see no need for them, apart from a few friends who I text regularly and have yet to get iMessage.

Btw, I didn't realize it until a week ago, but you can iMessage people anywhere in the world... for free. That is truly remarkable, as I am now texting my cousins and friends overseas who I had never texted before due to outrageous texting fees. This has brought us all closer together in less than a week's worth of texting. Truly remarkable!

Mine dropped significantly as well. I'd usually be at around 1,000 texts around this time in my billing cycle pre-iOS 5, now it's around 400. Really enjoying iMessage so far but am sometimes having issues with slow upload speeds for photos on wifi

I think I almost exclusively use iMessage now or Whatsapp.

Which is kinda funny, because my plan now comes with unlimited texting

Anyone noticing the people without iDevices getting tons of text messages from never ending group messages?
My iPhone has been blowing up with an enormous amount of replies to group messages.

My SMS use dropped but my actual texting/messaging is up because I'm messaging more people with iMessage.
