Got mine today....
Everything I'd expect from Anker.......top quality and performs as expected.
Highly recommended.

Two very minor updates I'd like to see:
*Rubber feet to prevent sliding
*Power Indicator

To stop the sliding that to get to a hardware store and get some Velcro pads (they're really cheap too) and cut them didn and use on the bottom! That would work to prevent it sliding!

I realize it's easy to put some rubber pads or other anti-skid material on it.
Point is, it should come this way and also include a power indicator.

Awesome device nonetheless...

It looks rather big, and comes with unwieldy power cord. OK for home / desk use, but too bulky for travel. Also, no support for international power plugs.

Huh? It looks like it has a standard C8 (aka figure-8) power input and Anker's page states it'll accept 100-240V 50-60Hz. It's pretty simple to get EU/UK/whatever to C7/C8 plugs and cords, even short ones.

My only concern is that Anker's page claims 5V 3A max on the USBC port, which if true is about half what the Apple adapter provides.

You need to look at the + model. This one you referenced is the older one.

The unit I purchased and linked to above is 29W (14.5V x 2 amps) on the USB-C port.
Same charging power <speed> as the brick that comes with the MacBook.

Ah cool, I was looking at the wrong page on Anker's site; I missed the PowerPort vs PowerPort+ differentiation. Unfortunately the device link on Anker's site doesn't seem to list any specs. I'd assume it has the same input specs though, so should be fine worldwide with whatever C7 plug you need. https://www.anker.com/products/A2053111

I've definitely tossed it into my Amazon wishlist. Looks perfect for travel with a 12" short cord, making it simple to charge up multiple devices.

Not nearly as elegant as Apple's international plugs, which integrate directly into their power chargers. I own one of these kits, and simply grab an adapter depending on where in the world I am traveling.

Apple World Travel Adapter Kit

All I really want is Apple's 29W MacBook USB-C charger, but with a couple of extra lower wattage USB-C ports.

Oh, certainly true. Unfortunately we're limited to buying the products that exist rather than the ones we wish existed... :)

You do know the back end of those Apple adapters are all C7 plugs, yes? They should plug right into the Anker's C8 socket. The only possible fly in the ointment might be the direction and what sort of strain was put onto the thing.

Also have a look at http://www.stayonline.com/detail.aspx?id=19177 or http://www.stayonline.com/detail.aspx?id=19159

Yep fully aware, however Apple adapters' prongs are all at 90-degree angle with C7 plugs.. So while you may be able to attach one to this Anker charger, but you will have a more difficult time plugging the whole thing into an outlet :)

I think it's just a matter of time before we see more portable and elegant options supporting USB-C. I already own an Anker PowerPort 2 charger, which supports 2x USB-A ports. Once Anker releases an USB-C version of this product - it will give me what I need for travel.. a small charger which lets me charge my rMB and my iPhone at once. So that's what I am holding out for.

I have that Anker charger. It does a great job charging the iPad Pro vs the charger provided by Apple. I have ordered the Anker USB c Charger mentioned above and waiting for it to arrive.

Is it an actual USB hub too or just a charger?
Charger only.

Ah well, it was a fifty-fifty shot on the direction of the plugs. Oh well. A short cord would still handle matters without much bulk for the time being, I expect they're available in EU, UK, and other formats as well as the US format I have.

I actually have a slightly older version of the pictured charger. :)

Yes, as USBC charging devices become more prevalent we'll see more chargers incorporating that capability. We're still pretty early in the adoption curve.

They're now available in the UK. I'm very impressed. Have stuck it to the underside of my desk. :)

Saw this thread today at work, ordered on Amazon, and it delivered same-day. Actually first time I've ever had a same day delivery. Pretty cool.

Anyways, this thing is awesome. Anker quality and the fact that USB-C is becoming ubiquitous will guarantee this thing sees usage the next 5-10 years. Would be nice to have one more USB-C port though
