Thanks for the heads-up.

Just ordered 2x Space Gray 512, which I will have by the 5th for two friends.

This, in addition to one bought directly form Apple that I already have (Space Gray 512 for myself) , and one from Best Buy that I have received (Silver 512 for my wife).

It is ironic that I have been able to secure four machines, and that they will all be in Kenya by the 12th, yet people in the US are yet to get them.

I've been a long time Apple fan and customer, but this is an epic fail.

Canada and UK has it worse.... it's epic fail because we were the first wave launch country.

"Ship on April 10" My ass

Seriously? That's an attack better suited to the throngs of trolls and misogynists who frequent this site.

BTW, I looked at the page, and there aren't "loads of stock" available as the OP states, a couple of versions haven't even been released yet (it states), and one option only had 17 remaining machines left. Can't imagine how long stock like that would last in any single retail store, let alone the whole chain of them across any country in which they trade.

Frustrating I agree for people who want this lovely machine today, but calling it a fail or placing blame on people, well, that's just such a silly game to play.

Yea....third party sellers on amazon.com got them and Apple stores in LONDON didn't get any even though it was announced it would ship on the 10th of April....if you think this is NOT an EPIC FAIL then i say GO **** YOURSELF!!!!!

This is obviously a new thing we haven't seen before by Apple and we all know what new things happened for retail at Apple in the last year, it's VERY easy to blame her even though i don't want to.....

Why is it a fail? Are you angry that another customer got it before you?

Why open up pre-orders to other countries when Apple isn't going to go by the first come first serve system. People in the NA Australia/NZ ordering theirs after the pre-order and getting it before people who pre-ordered doesn't seem fair.

The stock numbers were higher when the thread was posted.

still dont understand why people would buy from anywhere other than Bestbuy considering there's the 10% movers coupon

Too bad we can't choose the 1.3 model :(

How do I get a 10% movers coupon?

Also, we cannot buy a 1.3 from BB, right?

either go to USPS and ask for an address change form, the coupons are with the form, or do what I did and just buy one on ebay..... search "best buy coupon 10 online " (make sure it says can be used online)...they sell for 3-4$

1.1 or 1.2 at best buy only for now....

EDIT: or if you plan to buy in store, make sure the coupon says can be used in store.... there seem to be different versions

They made a conscious decision to re-allocate all the units originally allocated to their own stores to fulfill online shipments. Angela Ahrendts is in charge of both retail stores and online.

Apple probably made commitments to Best Buy and companies like Datavision (which seems to have a grand total of 9 in stock) to have at least some stock at launch. What those resellers do with them is up to them. I agree it is unusual that Apple didn't have more MacBooks available at launch, since they never had this issue in the past, but I think it's a supply chain issue, not a retail "fail." If they sold them in their own stores, they'd have long been out of stock by now.

Huh? What site did you "pre-order" yours on? :)

and now ladies and gentlemen it's available on amazon.com IN STOCK!!!!!

Anybody else notice that the gold is ~$35 cheaper?
