Wake delay still there. I wasn't noticing a delay when I was listening to Spotify, but after that the delay returned. Oh well...I've kind of gotten used to it by now I guess.

Same here. Guess we'll have to live with until iOS 9.

Did everyone get bored of complaining about fps in the weather app and now they're onto this?
certainly bored with certain apologetically-tinged, trite and smug comments from certain folks who are moments away from getting the MR "ignore" applied to them. I think us discerning, unapologetic types have figured out that Apple is not going to fix these nagging, yet small issues. Just the type that ensure one updates to the next OS, even if maybe we see no new benefit.

It is funny, this forum seems to mirror Apple itself in so many ways...QC on the comments and post these days is on the downside at MR, and spin doctors seem to be playing hard in the posts/threads.

Certainly seems easier to just randomly "threaten" people with the "ignore" functionality than it is to simply face reality.

Maybe I don't know how to reproduce the delay? I use touchid to unlock after my IPA2 has been sleeping for a couple of minutes and it immediately opens to the home screen.

So, iOS 8.4.1 is out. However I am still sticking at iOS 9. Currently it is beta 5.

Agreed, but what makes you think iOS 9'wont have its own set of unpolished areas and its own set of annoying bug that never get fixed/get introduced? Reading a lot of posts saying right now (4 week from GM) it's not exactly smooth sailing.

And to anyone who wants to claim there's still time to fix ios 9 issues I say this. iOS 8.4 was in beta for many weeks and 8.4.1 was in beta for a few weeks which is still littered with issues. Whatever we get next month in iOS 9 will be largely what we will be stuck with. All those little details and nagging things that are there will most likely stay there forever.

The scarier thing is that they seem to introduce VERY annoying bugs with every .1 release....mainly on iPads. For example 8.1 introduced a nasty iPad rotation issue that was fixed in 8.2 after me sending a video to Apple easily showing how reproducible the bug was. Then it was 8.2 that bricked phones after a faulty install issue that was apples fault. Now 8.4 introduced tons of issues on iPads.

Battery life on my 5S is back to normal, even pretty good dare I say. I'm happy for now.

I got 4 hours out of my 5S yesterday after the update. I normally used to get around 6 hours. What the heck happened to my phone?

See how it's behaving over the next few days and charging cycles. First one after an update doesn't really tell much of anything definitive.

3 hours and 42 min with 8% remaining at the moment. Battery usage shows no abnormal activity. Something definitely went wrong

EDIT: posting this reply took 2% of my battery. Now at 6%

Im on 8.4 why should I upgrade to 8.4.1? I read the entire learn more and none of that applies to me since I don't use Apple music.

With the exception of the sleep/wake issue on my iPad Air 2, 8.4.1 is running solid.

It's running real well on my 6+, with no Safari crashes thus far.

iOS 9.0 will, for sure, have many issues and bugs, what X.0 release did not? This is why we cannot win and are stuck in an endless chase for the perfect hardware/software version that seems ever more elusive with Apple. This is why I am personally not impressed with iOS ever since 8.0 was released. Really sloppy these days.

Security fixes, other potential bug fixes. What do you have to lose?

iOS 7.0 wasn't really any better in that respect.

I agree. Last time Apple had it act together was 7.1... 8.0 to 8.4 have all been relatively sloppy.

Right but 7.1 was VERY solid compared to 8.X on all new devices. Can't say the same since 8.0.
7.1 was definitely a huge improvement over 7.0, although I would say that 8.3 and even 8.2 for some has been quite a bit of an improvement over 8.0, perhaps not to the same level exactly, but perhaps not that far from it either.

8.x has been a somewhat improvement but its been one of the worst versions of iOS I've ever used.

Guys, i am on iphone 5 and battery life with 8.4.1 is FANTASTIC.

I dont know how but a minor release like this must have fixed some bugs, because i have never experienced such a great battery since iOS 7. iOS 8 for me kind of screwed it, but finally with 8.4.1 my battery lasts even with screen on. i was used to lose like 1% every minute, now its rock solid, no drain while sleeping, seems to go back to good old days.

very pleased.

You base all of that and your negative approach to iOS (whatever version) on your crappy experience, when it's not as big or widespread as you exaggerate, when most probably didn't have the same. No software in any universe is 100% bug free. It's how it goes. The "endless chase of perfect software" is what happens in ALL software. It's practically impossible to have 100% flawless software on the scale of an OS. If it was so easily achieved then we would be running 1980's OS's with zero need to upgrade.
