Realistically, I would guess that less than 5% of people with ipads, ipods, and other tablets use their devices to type up word documents. Most people use their tablets and phones for fun things, not work things, other than email.

Tablets are consumption devices. Not creation devices.

it's sad really, maybe I should hop on there and explain how fantastic PAGES for ipad is?

What's so fantastic about Pages for iPad? Basically, long form typing on iPad is pretty terrible. For short notes, I don't really need a fancy word processor - Notes type app does fine.

Reading your post made me remember this:

I use my iPad to type classes every week, and the virtual keyboard is great for that.

People should stop with all those retarded dogmas everywhere.
iPad is for this. iPad is for that. Xoom is for this. Xoom is for that.

Stop that ****, please. A tablet serves for what it can do.
If it has a large screen and a good virtual keyboard, what's the problem with considering a tablet as a creation device?

It's curious, but your attitude represents 90% of the Apple consumers.

I use Pages all the time on my ipad. Just because some of you don't doesn't mean its not important.

if you think the ipad is only for consumption your dead wrong. The ipad is the #1 reason I'm the top student in my Chem class, and pages has helped me create some amazing documents, that wowed everyone.

but the real point of the post, if you read the whole think, is how they are looking for apps, and that the apps they are waiting on wont even be done untill summer.... and this will go on and on with apps for anything.

Let me ask you this, have you used it?? I mean really used it? or just play with it, or some ones word?

pages for ipad is a very easy page layout software, I have created some really cool stuff with this. I use it over my laptop office software.

I would think malware in the Android Market is more of a problem. Say all you want about Apple's approval process, but I don't think any malware has made it in there.

Yes, but where can you buy an app that has Magen fox in the nude, if not for the android market place? It's real classy place the marktet place is! REAL classy..

Tell that to David Hockney...

Tell that to Damon Alborn...

Artist's, Musician's, Writers (screen plays / novels)...

iPads & Tablets are what you make of them. Ignorance is everywhere.

And if your going to use the argument that its the minority that create and the majority that consume media on a tablet/iPad well that argument applies to All computers.

I could swear I heard of someone cracking 100,000 iPads last fall, and one or two devious apps that snuck past the radar. So I searched on "iPad malware" and found this:

I have had my iPad for two days but clicked on a site today in Safari and a bunch of malware flew in! I read I am to restore the iPad if this happens but now can I prevent this in future? ...
_____

... I clicked on a site, which is fine when I click on it from my desktop (just checked!) so it is probably coincidence that suddenly a list of malware suddenly appears on my screen, and then a Windows Security window pops up asking if I wish to remove the malware...

LOL - Way to use your B...

LOL - That's why you are not buying the XOOM right now? There are plenty of good reasons not to buy the XOOM and not to buy the Pad#2. I happen to love my XOOM and run docstogo w/out any problems. I run docstogo on my Ipad as well and like it much better than Pages.

Xoom is for a different audience -- if the xoom is for you --- you will probably already know it. Now that they have released the WIFI prices at a bit over $500 it's closer to what it needs to be "VALUE WISE". It really is an incredible piece of hardware - lots of things you can do to customize - See Android. Is my XOOM going to make fun of my White Pad 2 w/ Red Cover? Probably but I'll break them up if it gets out of hand :D
