Just got these emailed to me today, holy crap!
lol thats great
cheers for the pics mate
Amazing .... any idea where this is?
It's really weird hearing about all this snow/ice etc. I got sunburnt today!
Thankfully, we don't really get snow down here. Who needs snow, when we've got beaches!
Yeah, definitely. Where's this from? I'm guessing a European coastal town, but that's pretty vague.... then again, it is the World-Wide Web.
sorry, i can't read french.
I love the antennae on the cars. They look so ridiculous.
"These pictures were taken in the city of Constanta (at the Black Sea), in Romania, last week."
That's what came in the email with the pics.
That would be Lake Geneva, Switzerland. Looks like it's not so much freezing rain as ice from the waves being blown onto stuff near the shoreline.
Anyone seen pictures of Ice Tower in Fairbanks, Alaska? Here's the link. Make sure you visit Page 3 to see how big it gets! It's a man-made ice tower!
EDIT: E, I was referring to the "glacegeneve" pictures linked by someone else in the thread. I think they must be two separate sets of photos.
It's called Sherlock
The translation is:
Wednesday January 26, 2005. The opinion of great cold announced by the
weather is with go. Spectacle of ice guaranteed at the edge of the
lake Léman where gusts of wind are announced with 110 km/h.... I let
you to guess the temperature.
Attention, certain images can shock the people sensitive to the cold!
FYI, Lake Léman = Lake Geneva. Same thing.
I love this picture.
"Baignade interdite" = "No Swimming"
That's a ton of ice. Holy crap! I am assuming that's not from waves so much, but rather from mist blown off the lake. Could you imagine coming out to go to work and finding that?
makes me appreciate the weather around me just a bit more, because it sure as heck isnt that bad, i got cold just looking at that though, buurr
I hope it's not Romania... otherwise I'm never going to Romania in the winter... I'll only go back in the summer... but I think it's not as some other posters seem to have described.
Hahah, thats a really good pic. Wheres that one?
That from the Lake Geneva Web site -- first pic.
okay im not complaining anymore about the snow here!!!
haha yeah Fark had a photoshop contest based on one of those photos.
Those pictures are awesome. It must be coming from the ocean that causes the dirty look. We had ice storms in Nebraska often. Nothing so beautiful is seeing sunlight against ice on trees, bushes, and cars. Although the car is not fun if a person is unfortunate enough to not have a garage.
Snow in the UK. So exciting, and here's a picture of my iBook (arrowed) in the snow we had today:
I guess that's a good illustration of why it's preferable to have a dry cold.
It would really suck if someone slept in their car and to wake up to that!
Think they would have one he** of a shock
(maby they would not be able to get out )
that's some really great pics. not too funny for the owners though...
