Android 4.1.1 to iOS 8.x Contacts & SMS X-Fer

I'm going from a Galaxy Note 2 to and iPhone 6 Plus this week. What would be the best method to transfer over my contacts and SMS messages? I've already backed up my photos to my PC.

Thanks in advance.
 
When I was Android, all my contacts were in gmail. When I switched to iOS, I just added my gmail account and only sync my contacts.
