    Why does the Android calendar icon always show "31" and not display the actual date? Serious question. Seems so basic and obvious. I see so many Android home screens which always show the 31 and that would drive me nuts.

    How do you feel about the fact that it's always 10:15 on clock and 73° on weather on iOS?

    Most people probably don't care. It's a just an icon.

    Maybe because the actual date is on your lockscreen as well as your home screen?

    Well, I don't use the stock weather app (I hide it in a folder somewhere) and yeah the clock doesn't bother me because the time is in the task bar. But I see your point.

    In ios there is no date on my home screen aside from the calendar app icon. I don't have Android yet.

    I've had every iPhone except the 3GS, Ive learnt to put up with the static weather. In truth I don't care.

    That's what widgets are for in Android.

    You get a "C" for grammar.

    Ge = Get
    op = OP

    Hmmm - I want them to make the clock iOS icon animated.

    More of a typing mistake than anything.

    I honestly do not like widgets. They take up too much screen space. It would be much better if Android had a live calendar app like iOS does and also supported app badges as well. Not everyone likes widgets, believe it or not.

    Not everyone likes app badges and updating icons, believe it or not

    If there is an update for something, it's in the notification tray with an icon at the top, no need to search through all apps to see which ones have a number on them

    the time/date is on the lock screen, also in the notification area, no need for calendar app to show it on the icon

    An 1x1 widget takes exactly the same space than an icon

    I know that. It is really the one thing that I wish Apple would incorporate into iOS.

    I hate the stock calendar for android. I have been using business cal and think it is a lot cleaner. Especially when you have a lot of events for 1 day.

    It's likely they've been threatened with a $500 million law suit if the date on that icon is current each day :eek:
