Android catching up on iPhone with developers

Two new studies on the apps marketplace show that Android is closing the gap on Apple's lead with developers but it still has some distance to go to rival the 300,000 titles in Apple's App Store.

The platforms they plan to develop for in 2011 are as follows:

iPhone - 8%
Android - 29%
iPad - 20%
Windows Mobile 7 - 20%
RIM - 12%
Symbian - 6%
Palm - 4%

Makes sense. The android platform is larger and so a developer has a larger market to selll is apps
