As I mentioned before, the ultra wide on my 11 is terrible. Looks like a fisheye lens.

1. The ecosystem was better, until it became a money grab. The ecosystem WAS designed for convenience, now it's designed to keep you paying.
2. The software. Meh. It's not innovative any more. The iPad pro is a £1000 computer with a fisher price OS, but hey - more memojis!!!!
3. Customer support. This used to be fantastic before the bean counters took over. It's been slowly going downhill ever since. Charging for a refurbished phone rather than doing basic out of warranty repairs is laughable, and not good customer service. If your speaker blows - new phone. The £566 cost of replacing your iPhone 12 pro max speaker out of warranty would buy you a set of audiofile grade speakers and a decent amp.
4. Better products. Debateable.
5. better hardware. Debateable. Their all singing-all-dancing new chip cannot support more than 16GB of RAM, and on iPad OS, even if you have 16GB of RAM, apps can't use more than 5.
6. Better reliability. See here: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/service-programs - there have been no less than 10 REPs for known issues since 2019. Given Apple only makes a handful of products, that's not good at all.
So why have Apple just added TouchID to the iPad Air, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air and iMac if it's "yesterday's news"? Why is it still on the iPhone SE and base iPad?
FaceID is a disaster in any country with a mandatory mask-wearing requirement right now. Meanwhile, there are myriad Android phones with multiple login options - face, touch (often under display), PIN and pattern. Windows PCs have also had biometric security for an eternity (fingerprint scanners, Windows Hello faceID, even ID card readers).
Face ID is working better than ever, android face unlock really? 🤦♂️ un secure rubbish at best.
You want apple to put Face ID in their low/mid range devices. 🤦♂️ Not happening anytime soon.
Now that the macs are using apple silicone, it’s only a matter of time before Face ID gets added.

Samsung wishes they had apples best in the world customer service and support. You must be really unlucky, never had a issue dealing with apple just like many other people.
How is android customer service/support? oh that’s right it hardly exists.
Are you trolling or are you serious? For most of the world Apple Maps is horrible and Google Maps has won.
Apple Maps works just fine for me, can’t comment for others, so it’s a total non issue for me, plus don’t like the UI on google maps looks like the rest of their software. 🤮🤢
To get back on topic, I definitely don't see Android as a failing platform. The US is just kind of crazy when it comes to Apple compared to the rest of the world. While I prefer Apple, I definitely look over at Android users with envy because Android pushes the boundaries.
The 2 things that really prevent me from ever fully switching over to Android:
- iMessage - Yeah I know this is common, but literally 90% of my friends, family, and coworkers have iPhones. Every time I switch to an Android phone, this becomes an issue. SMS is just not comparable. Whether it be seeing if a message is being replied to, or uncompressed photos/videos, the messaging experience on Android is not a good experience compared to iPhone. And it's a big deal because it's the app I use the most.
- Apple Music - Yes I know it's available on Android, but the integration with Siri/Apple CarPlay is just fantastic. With music being such an important thing to me, I want the absolute best and user experience possible.

Most of my family members and some friends have iPhones, but they refuse to use iMessage. They only use WhatsApp. I wrote to my sister in iMessage (she has an iPhone), but she replied to me on WhatsApp 😂.
I don't know anyone that uses iMessage. I only got one of my friends to use iMessage, but that's only because I begged her.
Speaking of Android, I miss YouTube Vanced a lot. YT Music was better than Spotify or Apple Music.
Twitter notifications are getting on my nerves on my iPhone. Too many of them lol I can't keep on top of my notifications on my iPhone. There's always too many of them and they clutter up the notification panel. I'm glad they are working on notifications in ios 15.
Yup. I agree with those being hard to break away from... especially iMessage.
But I do like the fact Apple Music support Google Home integration... I like how I can use Apple Music with my Android/Google devices.
Yeah I'm looking forward to trying ios 15 when it's out. Certainly won't use beta though
Haha yep this might be the first beta I skip out on, mostly because there's not that one feature that I literally cannot wait to try out. But overall I'm happy with the updates.
None of my contacts use imesaage, even those with iphones. Everyone uses WhatsApp.
I have 6 homepods and 3 Google home devices. It's nice that I can use the same service on them all.
Yep, WhatsApp is king in the UK and the rest of Europe I would say. iMessage is used but as it isn’t cross-platform, WhatsApp is the messaging platform of choice in my experience. Even though myself and much of my friends are iPhone users, we still resort to WhatsApp first when setting up group chats.
Yes even Boris Johnson uses WhatsApp it seems. 😄
iMessage is a huge trap that seems to have an iron grip on millions of users, particularly in the US. It is a self made trap and from what many people have posted, it is their main or sole reason for staying with iPhone. Good lord people, take control over your lives. Break the iMessage shackles and experience something else. Your world will not collapse and if some of your contacts or friends or family shun you for having the nerve to give the heave ho to iMessage, screw them.
