I too was pretty heavily influenced by those video series, enough to take the plunge. FWIW, not all of the things he mentions in his videos are completely accurate. There IS some validity in the products he puts out.

One thing I find... slightly annoying about my S3 is that yes, you can customize it, but sometimes when you use some of the tools available to do so, it can cause stuttering or for lack of better words, lag on the device. ie: love my new lockscreen by widget locker, however, since using it, I am noticing some lagging or some issues with the phone.

I guess it's a balance, if you go into the customization heavily, not everything plays nice with the phone's existing OS or launcher I guess.

Android is moving in leaps and bounds, but as much as I would wish it to be, it is not the nirvana I was led to believe. Don't get me wrong, still really like the phone, and am not planning on switching back, but just thought I would share my thoughts.

To the threadstarter, do what I did and get a Nexus 7 tablet. I'm a diehard Apple fan but really felt the urge to try the latest Jellybean version of Android. The Nexus 7 is really cheap to buy and you don't have to sign a contract etc. So it's great way to try Android and you can always return it if you don't like it.

I've had my Nexus 7 for 5 days and so far I can say it is really cool. Jellybean is smooth and there is so much customization you can do. But when it comes down to it I still prefer iOS as I think it's more polished, the app store is better and iOS as a whole just seems more friendly.

I'll still keep the Nexus 7 though, that is until the new iPad mini comes out or next gen full size iPad is out next March/April.

The video creator has no idea on how to use an iphone. I dont goto safari to look for a resturant. I goto maps and search for it, or ask siri. Alot of the stuff he is talking about like the search bar you have to customize to get. And really? Because the back button isnt in the same place in every app? This guy is really struggling to find reasons to show flaws.

And lately, Android has been entering a stage of very rapid improvement, as proven by Jelly Bean - so my gut feeling is that superficial flaws like this will soon be history.

At which point I will definitely be done with iOS (until Apple decides to open up their OS to the possibilities given by today's hardware).

I've never used an iphone but considering with the iphone 5 precisely because of the OS deployment on android phones. Google may claim they are entering more of a rapid development/deployment cycle (like they did with Chrome), but the problem is not and never has been with Google. The problem is with the manufacturers. Motorola promised back in December to deploy Ice Cream Sandwich on the RAZR around the new year. It wasn't until this past June that they finally released it. A new OS every few months is not necessary, but when an OS has issues that you desperately need fixed and you sit around waiting six months longer than you should for a an update, it gets VERY frustrating.

This is interesting for me also as I'm considering jumping ship to android also. There are quite few people who have apple products and android phone. There is an app to allow android phone to sync contacts etc to an iCloud account

I think that this is a very fair comment, it is so refreshing to see someone give something different a try, it is also sound advice for the op.
