I'd be surprised if Google knew about this. They know Apple is such a strong brand that is often hurts your own brand when you insult it. Samsung made this mistake.

You have to be a fool to believe Google would be directly involved. They have no reason to play the fanboy role. It's a waste of time and resources. Same reason why I don't post fanboyish comments anymore. It ultimately does not matter and it's a waste of time. Buy what you want.

Or the city has very Android oriented planning department, and that really is the shape of a park.

This. If you switch to satellite view, you can clearly make out that there is, in fact, a real park planted out in that shape.

That's kinda funny actually. Why y'all so serious? It's only like the networked PC logo in OS X having a blue screen. Nothing more than a light-hearted poke of fun at the competition.

Ahh I'm not annoyed about this at all. It's hardly the first of it's kind. Apple makes fun of the competition all the time. I believe this was also a user and not Google themselves. That said, I think the networking BSOD is a little more subtle than making a pee joke.

It makes a lot of sense actually.

Since the sole reason Android exists is to piss on iOS. Nothing innovative about it.

It could be that Google didn't do this at all. As per Engadget

"It could have been made by a renegade Google employee, or a member of the public using a crowdsourced mapping tool like Map Maker. "

Naturally, everyone will immediately believe it was Google doing this.

As if you and many others on this forum wouldn't jump down Apple's throat if they were in the same situation...

Would be nice if mac rumours could update the topic to show it wasnt google that did this.

Well two things.

One - I don't believe Apple Maps is accessible for public alteration. Second - given that I READ the article, I saw that there was more than ONE explanation.

So while others with reading comprehension issues might jump down Apple's throat, I wouldn't have been one of them.

On a different note, why is the android peeing?

It's shouldn't urine! Maybe that's some kind of oil? :D

Yeah, this won't be up long.
And this user won't be allowed to use Google Map Maker:
http://www.google.com/mapmaker?gw=66&ptab=1&uid=200619129451972425213&start=0&sort=

Yeah, this is definitely not Google doing this. I'm not a fan of Google in general, and Android is a hot, sticky mess. But they're not stupid enough to do this in any official or unofficial capacity.

And it is mildly funny, in a sophomoric and childish sort of way. Not unlike the back window decals that some pickup truck drivers sport showing a stick figure urinating on the logo of another pickup truck brand. Just goes to show you that there are rednecks everywhere.

But honestly, why is this even being reported? It's essentially a meme, obviously posted by an individual.

Yea I was gunna say, Apple to this day still uses the BSOD logo for connecting to Windows network shares. :)

Because Apple and Apple fanboys don't do it. I don't know of a single instance ever. Android fanboys however, are quite the violent bunch. I work with a bunch of android fanboys. It's amazing what crap comes out of their mouth.

I'll talk about something apple and then some jackass pipes up about how Apple people are very vocal about their products meanwhile just 1 hour earlier he was vocalizing about how he's getting the samsung galaxy iphone ripoff.

Other times these android fanboys talk about how their phone isn't working. Or how it has this cool feature that apple doesn't have. I'm like apple has that feature and you're a no different than apple fanboys.

It's almost like android fanboys are oblivious that they're fanboys and they react exactly the same as apple fanboys; except, that they assault and bully people that use apple products.

It's a very strange psychosis.

When this is Google, the reaction is "Stay classy."

If Apple does this, "lol it's just a joke no big deal."

----------

Ya but I'd argue that that is classy way to make fun right?

Urinating on anything is a cultural insult in every single place on the planet.

Yea I was gunna say, Apple to this day still uses the BSOD logo for connecting to Windows network shares. :)

Really? If Google actually approved this then I don't know what to say. Was it just some employee having fun?
